FirewallD and FTP passive mode
Howdy I'm trying to run FTP server behind firewall. And i can't enable passive mode from the Internet. There are plenty howtos but there aren't many with my combination. For now i have configured port forwarding and ftp server itself. On the router: # firewall-cmd --list-all --zone=external external (active) interfaces: enp3s1 sources: services: openvpn ssh ports: 1194/tcp

Transparent Squid and FirewallD : fine-tuning question
Hi, I just setup a very basic HTTP proxy with Squid on a router running CentOS 7. Up until early 2020 I've been using a bone-headed shell script with iptables to configure my firewall. But I decided to follow advice from a few gurus on this list, and I've since moved my configurations to FirewallD, which works nicely. There's one configuration left to tackle, that's port

Squid + wccp + firewalld
Hi Everyone, I'm trying to get squid + wccp on a Centos 7 box working with a Cisco router. I've done this before several times using Centos 6 and iptables, but never on Centos 7 with firewalld. I've searched far and wide for clear, concise instructions on how to do what I want in Centos 7. I've pieced together what I've found to come up with what I thought should work.

x2go on CentOS6
Has anyone managed to get the x2go server working on CentOS 6.7? I started testing x2go from EPEL under 6.6, and it worked well. Then I didn't use it in 6 months plus, eventually upgraded the machine to 6.7, and it's no longer working. Both Windows and Linux clients error out with "Connection failed. 0: Event not found." A Linux client run with the debug option reports:

X2go server on Centos7, any success?
Folks I have been unable to get X2go to work on a Centos 7 server. I have tried both the out-of-the-box GNOME desktop and the Xfce as well. In both cases, the view from the client is that the screen starts to appear, then goes away. On the server, I see the following messages in /var/log/messages (I have erased the user name and replaced it with XXX). The server is running as a virtual

x2go (vs. freenx)?
Is anyone using x2go on Centos - and if so, is there any reason to think about switching from freenx? The old NX client for mac was a powerpc binary and is no longer supported under mountain lion - and their new alpha release crashed my mac after an OSX update so I'm curious if there is anything better around. (And I didn't like the way the new mac version changed the screen scaling
