No sound with alsa and Nvidia HDMI
Hi, I cannot get wine to recognize my audio device (Nvidia GT210 w/HDMI). No other sound card is enabled. The right device for sound is hw:0,3. Alsa's speakertest works fine. Pulseaudio is completely removed from my system. Also Wine's pulse package is removed even though the trace still has some references to pulseaudio. Winecfg displays only MIDI devices under ALSA. help with 20050830
I am having some, what I would consider to be, strange problems with this release. Hope someone can clue me in. Nothing about this in Bugzilla. Fedora core 4, wine compiled from tarball download. Did ./tools/wineinstall, added /usr/local/lib to /etc/ld.so.conf; /sbin/ldconfig executing winecfg gives: err:wave:OSS_WaveOutInit open(/dev/mixer1) failed (No such file or directory)

Winetools is terrific
Yesterday, I finally jad an extended opportunity to try using wt to set up wine again. Last time I tried, ie wouldn't work when I got through. This time, it worked great. I am thinking that part of the problem was due to the time required for the download of IE, using the dialup connection. Winsserver timed out a number of times. By installing again, the downloaded stuff was already there,

Wine broken after upgrade
Previously, I had installed wine-20040615 via RPM for RH9, and some applications began working that had failed in the past. Yesterday, I downloaded wine-20041019-1rh9winehq.i686.rpm, That, in it self, was a chore, as the mirror sites in the US did not appear to have this rpm. Then, I switched to Germany. I don't know why I picked that mirror. At any rate, once downloaded, I removed

Audio CD problem
Hello I just downloaded a great program called Transcribe (to slow down music so you can learn it) available at http://www.seventhstring.demon.co.uk/ and it worked smoothly and without problem through Wine on my Gentoo 1.4 laptop. The problem is that the program wants to open .cda files to access the CD tracks and I don't know about a way to mount audio CDs in Linux. I could of course rip the

But, when I try to run anything, I get an error message stating that the config file is invalid. And, it is. Now, it is totally empty. The last thing I did, as far as installing is concerned, was to run an installer for a tv station application taht shows news
