Bridging wireless interface for KVM guests
Hi all, I am trying to configure wlan0 interface to use it with kvm guests. I know that I need to use ebtables statements due to it is not possible to link wlan0 interface with a bridge. I have followed Debian's tutorial: https://wiki.debian.org/BridgeNetworkConnections#Bridging_with_a_wireless_NIC without luck. Someone have tried?? I am using CentOS 7 fully patched. Thanks.

OT: adding a wifi adapter to openvswitch
Actually I do a similar thing. I use a VM as my home/office firewall. It works quite well and I would argue it is as secure as your standard firewall based on something like openWRT running on dedicated hardware. I also run a wireless AP in bridged mode to allow local network access on an appliance. There should be no reason that you could not put both on the same physical hardware. As for

I wonder if there's a way to run a script upon every NetworkManager connection event. Topic starter wrote me that he bridged wired and wireless on Windows Server 2012 and it works for Hyper-V VM OOTB.

I know people used Parprouted to help with bridging wired with wireless. Have a look at it. -- Sent from the Delta quadrant using Borg technology! wireless inteface configure as bridge
Hi, I m using centos 7 in laptop and kvm as virtualization to run windows guest vm.Currently i m using NAT as default setting for guest vm, my internet is fine but can't resolve some domains and sites. So want to come on bridge. As per my understanding bridge can not work while device is managed by NetworkManager. Is there any utility or tool to use to scan wireless device in network and

If your laptop/server/smth is permanently wired to the internet, there's no problem to bridge this interface to the VM. But the topic starter wants to connect to the cable or wifi and still have a firewall VM. WiFi client connection with WPA(2) PSK encryption

KVM virtio block layer - is TRIM/DISCARD supported?
Hi, One question please: If I use SSD as a storage on a host machine, does KVM's virtio I/O layer pass the TRIM/DISCARD commands to the SSD? I guess the question would be twofold: 1) is TRIM supported/forwarded if only one LVM'ed partition of SSD is forwarded? 2) is TRIM supported/forwarded if full SSD is forwarded (i.e. /dev/sdX) -- Best regards, Dmitry Mikhailov

NFSroot over wifi in CentOS 7 - graceful shutdown problem
Hi, I've got a task to have a small number of laptops netboot Linux over WiFi. The kernel is loaded off the USB stick of cource, it's off topic for now. The WPA-supplicant daemon is started early by dracut off initrd. It works. Mostly. The problem is that upon shutdown systemd terminates all the processes FIRST and unmounts filesystems NEXT. Guess what? Upon termination,

3.2 kernel with C5? Or ndiswrapper?
I know, I know... don't use the non-standard kernels unless you have to... BUT: I have a D-Link N150 USB card. Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9030 NetGear, Inc. WNA1100 Wireless-N 150 [Atheros AR9271] This isn't supported in C5, but it is supported in newer kernels (ath9k_htc). So let's try NDISwrapper: # rpm -i kmod\-ndiswrapper\-1.56\-1.el5.elrepo.i686.rpm
