Linux kernel 3.18.12 and libvirt 1.2.15 for Xen4CentOS in virt6-testing
Thanks to work from Johnny, linux 3.18.12 with all the x4c blktap goodness have been built and are now in the virt6-testing repo. I've also uploaded libvirt 1.2.15. As you may have seen earlier today, virt6-testing also includes an updated 4.4.2 package with the latest security update (XSA-133). The kernel has had some basic testing (by myself, Johnny, and another community member), but

Libvirt 1.2.15 and Kernel 3.18.12 RPMs pushed to the Xen4
I have signed and pushed the libvirt-1.2.15-3 and kenel-3.18.12-11 RPMs into the xen4 repository for CentOS-6.6. These have been in virt6-testing for a few months now with no negative reports. They should be available on mirror.centos.org in 30 or so minutes and externally as those mirrors update themselves against mirror. Thanks, Johnny Hughes -------------- next part -------------- A

missing bnx2x firmware files in Xen4CentOS CentOS6 kernel 3.18.12-11
Hi folks As mentioned in the subject, kernel-3.18.12-11 is missing firmware files required to run Broadcom/Qlogic network cards, driven by bnx2x driver. While in the source-rpm, there is a bnx2/bnx2x firmware tgz being applied during the rpm build, along with a patch adding these firmware files to firmware/Makefile, neither the tgz nor the patch contain the required firmware files. In 3.18,

Xen kernel-3.18.25-18 for EL6 and EL7 (CVE-2016-0728)
There is now a kernel-3.18.25-18 that fixes CVE-2016-0728 (and upgrades to the lastest 3.18 LTS kernel) for Xen4CentOS users. This kernel can be tested from here: http://cbs.centos.org/repos/virt6-xen-common-testing/x86_64/os/Packages/ (CentOS-6) and here: http://cbs.centos.org/repos/virt7-xen-common-testing/x86_64/os/Packages/ (CentOS-7) Once we get several tested installs we can move this

moving the Xen4CentOS repo Kernel to 3.10.x
Do we want to move the Xen4CentOS kernel to new LTS 3.10.x from the current 3.4.x Kernel? If so, can we start testing the that kernel build? Is someone from Xen.org working on porting the xen specific patches that are required in the 3.10.x kernel from the ones we have in the 3.4.x tree in Xen4CentOS? The only one I know we need is the blktap module. I have created a new spec that builds a

/var/lib/xenstored & Xen4CentOS
By default, /var/lib/xenstored is mounted tmpfs in centos 5 but this doesn't appear to be true for Xen4CentOS. This can cause performance issues as mentioned in https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=446089 I'm not sure if this should be part of xencommons, but if not, adding a tmpfs mount should probably be documented on the quick start wiki page. Thanks, Sarah

Xen 4.4.3 packages available in virt6-xen-44-testing
So first of all, if you've used the CBS before, please note the name change -- it's no longer virt6-testing, but virt6-xen-44-testing. Easiest way to install: rpm -ivh http://cbs.centos.org/repos/virt6-xen-44-testing/x86_64/os/Packages/centos-release-xen-7-7.el6.x86_64.rpm This will set up yum repositories for both the eventual release repositories (enabled by default), and the

CentOS 6 Xen 4.4.1 packages available on virt6-testing
At long last, I've got some beta CentOS 6 4.4.1 packages up on the CBS. Major updates include: * Update to Xen 4.4.1. Also includes all XSAs through 114 * Update to latest blktap 2.5 * Updated libvirt packages (1.2.10), which work well with libxl To use, add the following to a file in /etc/yum.repos.d: [virt-testing] name=CentOS-$releasever - virt-testing
