Hi Daniel,
First of all, awfully sorry for replying so late. Unfortunately your reply
had gone to the Spam drawer...
Also, I'm answering from Gmail's webmail which IIRC only allows for 'quote
original post below'. So please forgive me for not following the proper
netiquette of 'quote original post above'.

linux kernel 3.17, freeze on resume
This may not be the proper place to raise this question but I've had little luck elsewhere.
After trying again, unsuccessfully this time, to install the proprietary NVIDIA driver, I've decided to focus my efforts on the open source Nouveau driver. I've seen video drivers blamed for varying degrees of "freeze on resume" but I'm not certain that's what I'm up

trouble connecting to Panduit VGA adapter
I want to connect to an InFocus projector that sits behind a Panduit VGA
adapter. I use a Thinkpad P51 with a mini display-port to VGA
converter. The laptop runs Manjaro and has the
video-hybrid-intel-nouveau-prime installed and it works with other
monitors. For some reason it does not detect the projector that is
connected through the Panduit. The keyboard shortcut to switch monitor

Sysinux 6 will not boot ISOs on BIOS (i.e. pre-UEFI) systems
It occured with every BIOS system I tested on (none of them Dell):
1. HP G62 laptop (i3)
2. Samsung RV520 (i3)
Don't know what system Philip Muller uses; have copied him in as he has far
more technical knowledge than I do. Syslinux tested from Arch and Manjaro
(an Arch derivative). Basically found then when creating latest ISO images.
I may be missing something as well about the FMs. Just

Hi, I used to be able to smbmount a drive on my XP machine. But today I
tried and i got:
$/usr/bin/smbmount //systen/2017 /backup -I 10.0.0.11

Please look at smbmount's manual page for possible reasons
When I do:
$/usr/bin/smbclient -L systen -I 10.0.0.11
I get:

Unable to run TeamViewer 13 under Centos 7 (amd64)
Hi,
I am writing a book about Unix (Linux / FreeBSD) and my book needs
documentation for TeamViewer13 running under Centos 7 (64-bit).
Unfortunately, running TeamViewer does not get me a GUI -- the install
went smoothly and teamviewerd daemon is running.
This happens only under Centos. Under Manjaro, the same tarball
(teamviewer_13.0.5494_amd64.tar.xz) gets me a nice TeamViewer window.

A strange problem with my daily backups performed via rsync
Hi,
I am facing a strange situation with my daily backups performed via
rsync. I primarily use Manjaro KDE Linux (LTS kernel), but also have
FreeBSD and Windows 10 bare-metal installations.
I have an all-OS-writable ext2 partition /dev/sda2 mounted at /mnt/wall
My USB backup device is a Sony SSD mounted at /mnt/sony
This is the relevant line from my script which backs up /mnt/wall :

Makefile probably incorrect
I am a Manjaro user and was compiling libguestfs today from the AUR (it
doesn't reside on Arch/Manjaro repos) and got the following error:

Cross compile x64 to AArch64 issues
Hi,
I am trying to cross compile release-10.x to AArch64
(target=aarch64-linux-gnu), and the directions listed at [1] are not
completing the initial cmake step. I'm currently running Manjaro,
with the aarch64-linux-gnu package (and associated binutils, headers,
and glibc packages). My cmake command is
cmake -DCMAKE_CROSSCOMPILING=True -DCMAKE_INSTALL_PREFIX=`realpath
install`
