Crash after connection close when callback is in progress
Hey! It seems that if I close a connection while a domain event callback is in progress, I can easily have a crash. Here is a backtrace: #v+ #0 virFree (ptrptr=0x0) at ../../../src/util/viralloc.c:582 save_errno = <optimized out> #1 0x00007fc8328a4ad2 in virObjectEventCallbackListPurgeMarked (cbList=0xadfc30) at ../../../src/conf/object_event.c:282 freecb = <optimized

hi, all I do a hotplug detach a network in a thread, because virDomainDetachDeviceFlags maybe asynchronous, so I do like follow: cb_para->cluster_id = info->cluster_id; cb_para->group_id = info->group_id; cb_para->vsys_id = info->vsysid; cb_para->vnf_id = info->vnf_id; cb_para->conn = conn; cb_para->time_out = 20*1000;//20s

Dereferenceable load semantics & LICM
I left a comment on https://reviews.llvm.org/D18738 earlier which I feel is related to this discussion, so I'm reproducing it here: I wonder though if what we want to express isn't some sort of "type-based dereferencability annotations". For example the semantics I care about are essentially, "if you know you have a defereferencable pointer, you can go and dereference any

How to connect to console of domain on PowerPC?
Hi, I tried to use libvirt to run KVM/QEMU on Freescale PowerPC platforms. So far there's only one serial device (spapr-vty) defined in QEMU to work as console for IBM PSeries platform. There's no serial device support in QEMU for Freescale PowerPC (ePAPR). libvirt/src/qemu/qemu_command.c /* This function generates the correct '-device' string for character * devices of each

issue with virErrorInitialize
One of my team mate investigated the issue where libvirt-cim was segfaulting when unloading providers. More info on this issue is at https://www.redhat.com/archives/libvirt-users/2011-August/msg00069.html Here is the gist of his investigation - I've looked into the libvirt source code and the reason for issues with the unload of libvirt-cim providers is there (and cimprovider -r forces an

Re: [libvirt] JVM crashes during GC
Note: A couple of times I have seen errors while closing the connection (the trace ending with virFree). Also, a few times I have seen backtraces which show the flow going via esx driver and finally failing to close connection. Unfortunately I dont have those logs anymore. The execution results I have shared have been obtained using Libvirt built from source using the following config parameters:

libvirt crashes with Caught Segmentation violation
Hi, I'm having problems with libvirt crashing after a couple hours when a specific domain monitoring program is running. I have pasted below the following: 1. libvirt version 2. qemu-kvm version 3. OS version 4. Kernel version 5. libvirt status post-crash 6. libvirtd.log (info level dump around crash; too long to post everything so just the beginning and end. UTC) 7. custom.log (on what

use gnulib, and begin to pass its "make syntax-check" tests
Here's a patch series to make libguestfs use gnulib via a git submodule. The first thing I did was to look at the failures from "make syntax-check" and fix the config.h-related ones below. The others are now temporarily disabled via a variable in cfg.mk. I fixed the config-h problems and moved those change sets to precede the test-adding one, so that bisection still works, even if

DW_OP_implicit_pointer design/implementation in general
Hi David, Happy new year ! I just uploaded a POC patch that covers the cases when pointer points to un-named variables using DW_OP_implicit_pointer (references and dynamic allocation). This is using artificial variable as suggested by Paul. https://reviews.llvm.org/D72055 I hope that now it should address your concerns. Scope of DW_OP_implicit_pointer: As we initially decided split of
