NFS + sanlock problems
Hello list, In short: I am experiencing a problem where trying to start a VM which is allready running on a different libvirt host. Starting it fails, thanks to sanlock, but the disk dies on the original hypervisor and the vms filesystem is rendered read-only. Long version: i have the following setup: Two machines (H1 and H2) using CentOS 6.2 with the packages:

Re: libvrtd-1.1.0 crashes when attempting to start some (but not all) LXC containers
Update: I am able to edit the XML in "dwj-hfax-dev" such that libvirtd no longer crashes, and edit the XML for "dwj-lnx-dev" such that it will crash. The presents of "<seclabel type='none'/>" near the bottom causes libvirtd to crash. I do not recall ever manually adding that to my domain. In any event, libvirtd should probably not crash due to the

Re: Information needed regarding the libvirt version libvirt-1.0.6-1
Hi Daniel, Thanks a lot for your reply. We have mounted all the cgoup controllers at "/dev/cgroup_<controller>" as mentioned below. ls /dev/ | grep cgroup cgroup_cpu cgroup_cpuacct cgroup_cpuset cgroup_mem On further debugging we dound that the "VCPU" directories are not being created for our domains and hence the comamnd "cpu-stats

Hi Daniel, Thanks for your immidiate reply. The starting of virtual guest was ok on our machine. We are facing this issue while executing the "cpu-stats <domain name>" command. I have collected the debug logs as you suggested and attaching the same. <<libvirt_testing_starting_VG.log >> --> Log collected while starting the virtual guest

libvrtd-1.1.0 crashes when attempting to start some (but not all) LXC containers
Hello all, I have two issues: 1) I am unable to start a seemingly correct LXC domain (I cloned it from a working domain). 2) I am able to crash "libvirtd" by attempting to start the cloned domain, but starting the original works just fine. I humbly submit that item #2 is a bug - the "libvirtd" daemon should never crash due to anything the "libvirt" client

Swap space and hibernation on Centos 7
I just reinstalled Centos 7 on my Dell Inspiron 15 7570. This time I created a swap partitition that is 24 Gb in size since the machine has 16 Gb of memory. Still unable to hibernate with 'systemctl hibernate' which generates a message that a 'dependency on hibernate.target failed'. Typing swapon -s or cat /proc/swaps I see: /dev/dm-2 partititon 25161724 0 -1 free -m gives me:

Information needed regarding the libvirt version libvirt-1.0.6-1
Hi, We have upgraded the libvirt version from libvirt-1.0.5 to libvirt-1.0.6-1 on our linux machine. After this upgrade "virsh cpu-stats <domain>" command is not working on our HardWare. *virsh # cpu-stats test error: Failed to retrieve CPU statistics for domain 'test' error: internal error error accessing cgroup cpuacct for vcpu* ** *# cat /proc/cgroups #subsys_name

Release of libvirt-0.8.2
Following Dan advice, I decided to not wait for more patches and push the current git head as the release. Let's plan to have another release by this month end with the QEmu debugging and hacking APIs. The release is available as usual at ftp://libvirt.org/libvirt Quite a lot of bug fixes during the two months since 0.8.1, and a few new feature. It also tagged more commits as being

Bug-report: Memdisk regression for XMGR DOS memory manager
For the boot floppy at http://superkeen.com/peacecorpsfiles/FUZOMA14.IMG using memdisk from syslinux version 3.72 boots correctly, but for memdisk versions newer than 3.72 (I tested 3.73, 3.75, 3.85, and 3.86) all hang at boot with the following message: Loading boot sector... booting FreeDOS kernel - SVN (build 2039 OEM:0xfd [compiled Oct 2 2009]) Kernel compatibility 6.22 - BORLANDC ... Fwd: cgroup OOM killer loop causes system to lockup (possible fix included)
Hi all, Please find below a complete transcript of the emails between debian/kernel-mm mailing lists. I've had a response back from someone on the deb mailing list stating: ==================================== The bug seems to be that sshd does not reset the OOM adjustment before running the login shell (or other program). Therefore, please report a bug against openssh-server.

USB-hotplugging fails with "failed to load cgroup BPF prog: Operation not permitted" on cgroups v2
Hi all, I've disabled cgroups v1 on my system with the kernel boot option "systemd.unified_cgroup_hierarchy=1". Since doing so, USB hotplugging fails to work, seemingly due to a permissions problem with BPF. Please note that the technique I'm going to describe worked just fine for hotplugging USB devices to running domains until this change. Attaching / detaching USB devices

PROBLEM: log abort over RAID5
Several people already reported this at linux-kernel and elsewhere with no answers, I thought perhaps this would be a more adequate forum... [1.] One line summary of the problem: After I/O, journal is aborted and filesystems made read-only. [2.] Full description of the problem/report: One can't anymore write to the affected file systems. Upon investigation, ext3fs journal was aborted
