Samba firts DC fail over
Just a thought if the client machines are still getting a listing in the DNS for the failed machines wouldn't this be a problem? How would the programs know not to use the failed server? Is there a way to temporarily move the failed machines out of dns listings? On Fri, Feb 24, 2017 at 8:52 AM, Vinicius Bones Silva via samba < samba at lists.samba.org> wrote: > No, the question is

Module error after Samba update - Resolved?
Probably a ld issue. It might have not run in the rpm's post script. Do a ldd /usr/lib64/samba/libsmbregistry-samba4.so /usr/lib64/samba/vfs/acl_xattr.so and check if either are reporting missing dependencies. wine and Samba
Hi! Is there a way to run Wine from a Samba connection opened in Konqueror? When I open it via Konqueror (double-clicking=>run with=>wine), it just opens a window and close it fastly. When I activate the 'open in terminal' option, the terminal leaves blank. What can I do? Thanks. Vinicius

tracking account lockouts
Hi, I'm trying to track random account lockouts on the domain. Is there any recommendations for log level or log handling that let me see what machines/servers are locking the account? I'm using samba 4.5.5. as a DC (3 DCs). My current logging settings are: logging = syslog log level = 1 auth:5 passdb:5 winbind:5 Att, Vinicius

User profiles question
Hi, I'm facing an issue where most users receive the error "The Group Policy Client service failed the logon. Access denied.". The fix so far is to delete a registry folder on the client machine, but there are cases where this does not work. For one user, I had to delete the account and create it again. The domain uses 3 centos7 + samba 4.5.5, with a fileserver running 4.4.4.

Dear R users, I´m studying about Bayesian Statistics. In this context, please, anyone have some basic script of RJMCMC (Reversible Jump Markov chain Monte Carlo) in R or WinBUGS? My aim is to learn how to implement this methodology. Thanks a lot. Marcus Vinicius [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Running Windows Oracle App into linux
Hi! I'm trying to run a Windows Application that uses a Windows Oracle Client version. The GUI works ok, but when I login, the program gives me 'OCI.DLL: module not found'. Looking for something into winnedbg I noticed it calls OCI.DLL and loads ok, then start to load some libs, like SQLORA8.DLL, and so on.. until a DLL that it can't find and can't say me the name. Any hints?

report on issue of samba_upgradedns
Hi, This is just a report I wanted to share. Maybe someone can put it on the wiki. I created a new DC for a new site using the samba internal dns option. Later, I decided to go with bind. So I ran the command, and got this error: [root at theoden ~]# samba_upgradedns --dns-backend=BIND9_DLZ --verbose Reading domain information DNS accounts already exist No zone file

SAMBA using existing users and passwords on Linux
So that it doesn't end without a conclusion I will inform you what has been accomplished. As our time was short to complete the migration I decided to install the same version of SAMBA that was already running on the old machine (3.6.6). After the migration is complete, I will have more time to update the SAMBA and insert it into our AD domain, thus changing the entire login and mapping

SAMBA using existing users and passwords on Linux
Hello people. I have a new problem with my system. I am required to list the valid users both in the smb.conf file and in the computer management of the linux server. How do I have only one configuration point where I can include the users that I want to have access to SAMBA shares?
