Re: Installing QEMU from source causing error
It is true that the machine contains 'pc-i440fx-4.0'. I am using
Ubuntu18.04 and libvirt-4.0.0
This is probably a separate issue, but while updating the machine name
neither "virsh define" or "virsh edit" updates the name to "pc".
I was reading the FAQ of libvirt on updating the configuration at :

Re: Installing QEMU from source causing error
I also ran "virsh capabilities". It looks like the machine "pc-i440fx-4.0"
is available there. Does it mean anything to this case? I am guessing "4.0"
means Qemu version, which is the version I am trying to install from source.

Everyone,
I am trying to install KVM on a desktop unit as a lab project with the
hope of being able to use kvm on one of our office servers after I
learn how. So far I am very low on the learning curve.
I have used the guide to make the installation :

The installation seemed to go well, but when I tried to add Fedora

FWIW, I'm able to create new unattended Fedora 20 VMs just fine with a
script like that[1] which uses virt-install. To invoke the script:
$ ./create-guest-qcow2.bash f20vm1 f20 x86_64

Problem with net-define using Open vSwitch bridge
Hi all,
I used "net-define" to create a network to use to attach VMs to an Open vSwitch bridge. The net-define worked fine, I can see the network in "net-list" (I set it to started and to autostart) but when I try to attach a new VM's NIC to this network (via virt-manager), I'm getting the following traceback:
