Libvirt pool cannot see or create rbd clones
Hello everyone,
To increase my odds of finding an answer I also wanted to ask here.
This is my post from serverfault[1] in verbatim:
While trying to get a cloned disk running from my OS snapshot I run
into the problem that Libvirt cannot see existing images cloned from a
snapshot. Created via:
# rbd -p vmdisks clone vmdisks/coreos_2023@base vmdisks/coreos00.disk
The base image has the one

Broken installer (PR#14083)
Full_Name: Robert A. Weller
Version: current
OS: Mac OS 10.6
Submission from: (NULL) (129.59.140.86)
The gfortran 4.2.4 installer in the Tools section that is supposed to install a
Snow Leopard (10.6) version is actually installing version 4.2.1. I am finding
that the 4.2.1 compiler installed as issues e.g. in interpreting the
-fno-automatic command line switch and also -fdefault-real-8.

libvirtd does not update VM .xml configurations on filesystem after virsh snapshot/blockcommit
Hi,
Recently We've upgraded some KVM hosts from Fedora 29 to Fedora 30 and
now experience broken VM configurations on filesystem after virsh blockcommit.
Commands "virsh dumpxml ..." and "virsh dumpxml --inactive ..." is showing diffrent configuration than the one on filesystem.
In case of restart libvirtd or system reboot, there are broken VM xml configurations on

spoolss causing driver issues
Hi,
I have a problem. I upgraded from samba 2.0.7 to 2.2.3 recently, and
one of my 2 printers have driver issues.
Whenever I print to SAVIN 2545, I get binary and hieroglyphics, so
I assumed that it's driver-related. I can print to our HP8100 just fine.
Some machines were still configured with:
"\\server\savin", LAN Manager Printer
These machines STILL print fine.
However, if

Rcmdr window border lost
Dear Andy and Peter,
My apologies for chiming in so late, but I was out of town and just caught
up with R-help today (and an impressive amount of material accumulates on
R-help in a couple of weeks!).
Although I develop the Rcmdr package on a Windows system, I test it under
Linux as well -- most recently on Ubuntu 7.04 with R 2.5.0. Curiously, the
windows for Rcmdr 1.3-5 look normal to me, as I

blockcommit and gluster network disk path
Hi,
I'm running into problems with blockcommit and gluster network disks -
wanted to check how to pass path for network disks. How's the protocol and
host parameters specified?
For a backing volume chain as below, executing
virsh blockcommit fioo5

disable spoolss - not working
Hi,
I don't want to have to downgrade my samba server to disable spoolss.
I'm running 2.2.3. (I assume I don't need 2.2.3a since it just fixed
an overwrite bug).
When I use "disable spoolss = no", I can access my printer
\\server\savin just fine.
When I use "disable spoolss = yes", I can see my printer (savin) in
\\server, but when I access it, I get:

surprising <backingStore type='file'> setting in domain.xml
Hello all.
My currently used versions: libvirt-5.2.0 and qemu-4.0.0.
Here is my problem. I'm struggeling since a few weeks with a strange
behaviour by either qemu or libvirt. After a reboot of
the hardware node the $domain.xml contains suddenly a backingStore
setting which was not there before reboot.
Something like that:

External snapshot issue
I have used
virsh snapshot-create-as <VM name> <snapshot name> "<snapshot
description>" --diskspec
"vda,snapshot=external,file=/path/to/external-snapshot" --disk-only
--atomic
to create an external snapshot of a running VM. I followed it with
virsh blockpull <VM name> --path /path/to/external-snapshot
and monitored it until done.

Clone VM
Greets,
I've began to try libvirt API and looking for most correct way to clone
existing VM (Xen server if it matters).
Since API lacks this functionality how does one usually go about it?
Thanks in advance,

Important feature missing: Floppy booting from 2 disks
Hi list,
I've used sys & pxelinux now many times, it's really a useful toy. I found
esp. syslinux very helpful as it allows to COMPLETELY boot from multiple
disks. However, I could never use a 'vanilla' syslinux for that. I'm
doomed to use Distributor patched versions, which I don't really like. Why
is that? Read on:
Well, I can't manage to boot of a 1.44 MB

About libvirt domain dump state and persistent state
Hi all,
I use libvirt-go in my agent to attach rbd volumes. I ofen suffer the issue of incosistent of domain dump xml and domain persistent xml file. For example, when I try to attach volume, the the domain by ?virConnectListAllDomains? api from libvirt tell me the vdf or 0x0a is empty, but when attach it with the vdf device or 0x0a address, qemu return the error duplicated with vdf or PCI
