Some strange errors in logs
+1 "penny" :-) :-) for my thoughts.. :-p But yes, that should fix it. I also suggest, review your logs, you wil notice more messages. Rsyslog/apt/snmp/postfix/ntp need manual changes after the upgrade. At least these, maybe more but these are the one i've encountered. DNS question
Dear list, we use debian stretch with Louis's 4.10.5 packages and bind9_dlz backend. There are two AD DCs with redundant ISC DHCP servers on them. The DHCP servers are updating the DNS along the lines of https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9 but with nsupdate commands replaced by suitable calls to "samba-tool" (I had problems getting the

Error installing VM: "Process exited while reading console log output"
Hi, I'm trying to install a qemu-kvm virtual machine on a Debian GNU/Linux squeeze amd64 host, using virtinst 0.500.3 and libvirt 0.8.3. First I tried this command as a normal user (in groups kvm and libvirt): $ virt-install --connect qemu:///system --name test1 \ > --ram $((128 * 1024 * 1024)) --vcpus=1 --description 'Test VM 1' \ >

UNSEEN flag issues with multiple clients
Hi all, I've been bugged by this issue for a while, and while I see that the \UNSEEN flag is specified in the RFC to be reset once *any* client connects and looks at a mailbox, I was wondering if there's a way to change the behavior so that it's tracked on a per-client basis? Or if there's even some way to turn it off so that both my iPhone mail client and my main emacs viewmail

ldb errors after upgrade, cause?
Hi! recently we upgraded a Debian jessie server to Debian buster, with Samba being upgraded from 4.5.12 (+dfsg-2+deb9u3) to 4.9.5 (+dfsg-5+deb10u1). A few hours later we saw these errors in syslog: smbd[26024]: [2020/02/03 11:13:13.631613, 0] ../lib/ldb-samba/ldb_wrap.c:79(ldb_wrap_debug) smbd[26024]: ldb: Failure during ltdb_lock_read(): Locking error ? Hai, cat "/var/lib/samba/private/named.conf" also please. And check if the correct bind9_dlz is enabled. dpkg -l | grep bind9 Jessie, should be 9.9 Stretch should be 9.10 If this server was upgraded then you need to manualy adjust the file above. Looks to my bind9-dlz is enable in smb.conf but not loaded. cat /var/log/daemon.log | grep dlz You should see thing like: samba_dlz:

The best troubleshooting guide that I found, and also the one I've been using, is the ssh forwarding guide on github - https://help.github.com/articles/using-ssh-agent-forwarding I've checked all things there,
