debugger() fails if "..." in function arguments
Dear all,
I'm having a problem with debugger() in both R 2.8.0 and R 2.12.0.
Probably also versions in-between.
I don't see it logged in the bug database, but it's hard for me to
imagine that no-one else has encountered it. So my question is whether
it's a known problem with a workaround, or do I log it as a new problem?
The situation is that if I use

xtable "beta" testing wanted
Dear R-users,
I've enhanced the "xtable" package, adding numerous features that have been requested by users. The changes are listed below.
The objective throughout has been to avoid any breaking changes. However, as "xtable" is widely used and is a dependency of many packages I'd like to have others try it out before I post it to CRAN. Both bug reports and design

Kernel panic - not syncing: CPU context corrupt
Hi,
Is there someone on this mailing list who could/want help me figure out
this issue? We do not know where to look to solve this.
--- Description ---
This is a brand new server, which has been tested for days with FreeBSD
in our office, and a few days with Windows on the site of our hardware
distributor. Now customer wants CentOS, which we installed, but after
few days we get a kernel panic.

It's working as designed.
Linux does not treat various kinds of memory pages differently. If you
want a daemon to be fully in core, call mlockall(). Here's one way to
do that without changing the daemon's source:

vfs_recycle missing deleted file?
Hi,
With smb.conf having full_audit and recycle, today I saw:
Sep 17 10:48:49 kantoor smbd_audit[2317861]:
hannah|192.168.1.26|ashare|unlinkat|ok|/home/ashare/Documents/20240917Workflow.ods
However, there's no /home/.recycle/hannah/Documents/ or any other hint
of 20240917Workflow.ods in her recycle directory. As there is a copy of

Support for deferrable constraints in PostgreSQLAdapter#disable_referential_integrity
I recently submitted a pull-request
(https://github.com/rails/rails/pull/10939) to address a bug in
PostgreSQLAdapter#disable_referential_integrity related to how the
existing code behaves in a transaction when the PostgreSQL user account
lacks superuser privileges on the PostgreSQL instance.
While this permits the code to function without crashing, it doesn''t
actually make

Migrations, superusers, security and least privileges
The one thing I don''t like about migrations is the security, and I''d like to
know if anyone is interested in working with me to improve it (or knows an
existing way to accomplish the same thing). Here''s the scenario:
- I always create specific database users that only have CRUD
priveleges, and run my web apps with these users
- I need to log in with a

migrate vm images to new storage pool
I am searching for directions for using live block migration to copy
running vm's to a different storage pool.
Example: VM1 running on HOST1, the image(s) for VM1 are stored in
/var/lib/libvirt/images. I'd like to copy the disk image(s) that VM1
is using to /nfs/images. Without stopping/pausing/powering down the
VM.

permission problem with vfs object recycle:directory_mode
Well,
Despite I've recently answered about vfs object recycle on this list,
it seems that it isn't working as excepted.
Using Samba 4.4.5, compiled from sources
Here is the conf for a share:
[musique]
path = /media/data/musique
read only = No
vfs objects = acl_xattr recycle
recycle:directory_mode = 0770
recycle:subdir_mode = 0700

Digital Image Processing
I have seen several posts (but few answers) in "R-help search" as to whether there are any packages that use R to process digital images. There are several categories related to the general type of problem that are useful to know about:
-- Any existing packages for taking a digital image format {any flavor like TIFF, jpg, png, or GIF (or even TWAIN input)} and representing it internally

Contributors on R-Forge
Hi,
I've recently taken over maintenance for the "xtable" package, and have
set it up on R-Forge. At the moment I'm pondering what the best way is
to handle submitted patches. Basically, is it better to:
1) Be non-restrictive regarding committer status, let individuals
change the code with minimal pre-commit review, and figure changes can
be reviewed before
