IMAP server <defunct> (beta 7)
Hi, We've been using a 0.99 version of Dovecot for nearly a year without problems, but due to a server death I had to reinstall with the same configuration as before, but more recent versions of the software, on different hardware. This time though, every few days IMAP login and access fails, and the output of ps ax shows entries such as [imap-login] <defunct> and [imap]

defunct in 1.24 on FreeBSD Alphaserver
Hello, I've recently upgraded Dovecot from 1.1.16 to 1.2.4 on FreeSBD 6.3- RELEASE running on old Alphaserver 1200. Some time after this upgrade all user's MUAs showed error that user password was not accepted. I've noticed many zombies of imap and pop3 processes on my server (all in defunct state). SJava - restart() is defunct
Hi, I'm using the SJava package and am trying to get event handling to work, but no examples from http://www.omegahat.org/RSJava/examples/ that have any event handling work in R 1.9.0. I think the examples were all written around 2001 so most probably used an older version of R. The error message that displays in R is: Error: 'restart' is defunct. See ?Defunct. The restart

Defunct / zombie AGI after some execution time
Hello, We are running Asterisk-1.0.12 in a CentOS 4-4.2 system, kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3.ELsmp. We have some custom AGI, and when we launch Asterisk the system works fine. But **after some time**, each AGI execution generates a zombie <defunct> process. We believe that it's not a problem in the AGI code, because Asterisk+AGI is working fine in the first "n" minutes/hours. This

ts() defunct in R 2.5.0?
Hi! I have written an R-package (http://tocsy.agnld.uni-potsdam.de/wavelets/index.html) in R 2.4.1 that requires the ts() function. Users using R 2.5.0 now have a problem installing this package. I checked the package using R 2.5.0: _______________________________________________________ * Installing *source* package 'sowas' ... ** libs gcc -std=gnu99

Defunct processes w/ v1.2.1
I have limited information at the moment (currently distracted by other projects) but I'm hoping that someone has already found and solved this problem. I have a v1.2.1 installed on my development box waiting for me to tinker with the configuration. On several occasions, I have noticed that all the dovecot processes are listed as "defunct". I don't recall seeing anything

how to clear <defunct> qemu-system-x86 processes
