deny file access or specific users
Hi, For some users I am trying to deny file access to our domain member servers, yet keeping their AD account for all other purposes, like email and ldap authorized clients. So I figured I removed the unix attributes from a user in ADUC, while keeping the rest. I expected that would make the user 'invisible' for the domain member (file) servers, while maintaining the account for

QEMU virt-manager video device
I am trying to use the Video Virtio device and set it to Virtio (to get resolutions higher that 800x600). My host is CentOS 7 and my guest is CentOS 8. When I set the virtio for video - I get an add about QEMU does not support 'virtio' video device. Do I not have something loaded ? Real question is how to get video higher than 800x600. I tried every selection there Cirrus , QXL, VGA,

Adjusting vram for windows/photoshop
Hi, I have a fedora27 system with a win10 guest trying to use photoshop 2015. I've adjusted the vram parameter for the guest to 512M with QXL, but photoshop still reports "3D features and some filters require 512MB vRAM and photoshop has detected less than that on your system." What is the proper way to adjust the vram value to provide at least 512MB vram? I've included my xml

virt-v2v: default graphics driver for SUSE guests
Hi Mike, in 2013 you added the support for SUSE guests in the old virt-v2v (the one written in Perl); the commit doing it is attached, since the old virt-v2v was hosted on fedorahosted.org, which is no more. As part of that change, the default graphics driver was changed to be cirrus for SUSE guests, and qxl (as before) for any other. When Rich Jones rewrote virt-v2v in 2014 in OCaml, he kept

[PATCH 0/4] v2v: more control over device types
The decision on which device type to use for disks, network and video cards on output used to be taken deep inside the converting functions. This is not always desirable. In particular, there are scenarios when this decision is made before the convertion takes place. E.g. in in-place mode, the decisions are taken and the output VM configuration is created outside of v2v tool. This patchset

[PATCH] patch to buffer write ioreq
This patch implements a new mechanism to buffer the MMIO_WRITE and PIO_WRITE packet in a queue, and then submit them to qemu-dm in batch. This could save a lot of domain switch time. We implement this as a generic one to do ioreq in batch. However, we only use it to batch the MMIO_WIRTE request for stdvga(0xA0000-0xC0000) in order to solve the win2k boot issue for hvm domain. Without this patch,

[PATCH 0/2][RESEND] Provide init/release functions for struct ttm_bo_global
TTM uses global memory and BO for backing graphics buffers. These are represented by struct ttm_mem_global and struct ttm_bo_global. Currently, struct ttm_bo_global can only be initialized and released through struct ttm_bo_global_ref. This is a workaround for passing an instance of ttm_mem_global to the BO global initialization code. The use of struct ttm_bo_global_ref makes driver code
