XCP & Openstack
Hey guys, Has anyone had much success with XCP and Open Stack together? I''m in the process of putting together a open stack test cluster and I thought I might be able to use XCP dom0''s for it.. but to be honest it doesn''t look so good. I tried following these instructions on a separate XCP test machine: http://wiki.openstack.org/XenServerDevelopment At a first test

libvir: QEMU Driver error : internal error Cannot find suitable emulator for armv7l
Hello, I am trying to run OpenStack (via devstack) on an Arndale board using Linaro's 13.04 release. I am getting a libvirt error that I was hoping someone could provide some more detail about: libvir: QEMU Driver error : internal error Cannot find suitable emulator for armv7l If this is coming from libvirt, what is it looking for for a suitable emulator? Or, is this something I need to

How to make gic_version=3 as defailt to qemu on arm64
Hi I'm running Openstack which is installed by using devstack. But it is not launching VMs. >From command line with gic_version=3 option it is running. But openstack glance doesn't have any privilege to specify gic version. On my ARM64 board gicv2 is not supported, so i want to make gicv3 as default one to pass to qemu. Kindly suggest any specific version of vibvirt or patch such

cannot set maxMemory
Hi all, I'm testing the memory hotplugging on devstack (ocata version). According to the article in https://medium.com/@juergen_thomann/memory-hotplug-with-qemu-kvm-and-libvirt-558f1c635972 , I'm trying to create a virtual machine by setting <maxMemory>. However, I've got an error message in libvirt log as below. 2017-07-20 20:33:21.175+0000: 529: error :

questions around using numatune/numa/schedinfo
Hi, I'm running into some problems with libvirt and hoping someone can point me at some instructions or maybe even help me out. First, are there any requirements on qemu version in order to use the "numatune" and/or "cpu/numa/cell" elements? Or do they use cgroups and not the native qemu numa support? Second, are there any instructions on how to set up cgroups? I

Newton's method for finding roots
Hey guys, i have a relatively simple problem. I need to use netwon's method to find the root of a polynomial, lets say x^3-2x-1 i start off with p <- function(x) x^3-2*x-1 My method, which im sure is very amateur, is to type another function, which is the derivative of p, and after picking an initial value to start off with, i follow the steps of newton's method manually, but i dont

pam_ldap + nss_ldap, su(1), group wheel and pam_group
Hello, Freebsd-security. What is proper way to mix pam_ldap/nss_ldap (no users but root in local files), su(1) and check for group `wheel'? "files" source should have precedence over "ldap" in /etc/nsswitch.conf, for changing user/group by daemons before full network configuration, and for local "root" has priority over any LDAP ones. roll wheel on desktop to switch viewport
Hi. After some time using Quinn's Compiz I returned to Vanilla, which is more stable to me. There's a feature I do miss from Quinn's package, though, and it's the ability to change viewports by rolling the mouse wheel over the desktop. Would it be possible to mimic that behavior in Vanilla? Thanks in advance.

Why app_rx and app_tx when we have IAXModem and Hylafax and hy-email2fax? Should we reinvent the wheel?
I'm just wondering here, in our community... Why not HylaFax for Fax solutions? I'm not saying bad about the big efforts on app_tx and app_rx with spandsp. But as me and many other asterisk users, we find out that Hylafax+IAXModem+Asterisk is very reliable. And from what i've been testing and reading, Hylafax is an extremely powerful: "HylaFAX is an enterprise-class system for
