is it possible to resive /var online?
Hi all, Is it possible, safely, to resize /var while a server is running? I urgently need to resize a full 2GB /var on a running server which is located at a remote location where no one can get to it for 2 days? The system runs on lvm. I already moved /var/logs to it's own LVM partition but it didn't help at all so I think it's better to rather just resize it. Google searches

is it possible to resive a PV in LVM and add more LV's ?
Hi all I have a remote server (i.e SSH access only) which was incorrectly partitioned and I urgently need to get it up and running. It's got a 500GB HDD, but the PV is only 10GB big, so I can't add more LV's to to. P.S. This is on LVM, btw. Init lifecycle and rails
In a servlet J2EE application, there is an init style method that gets called after that servlet is loaded. Is there something similar within a rails controller context. I am looking for something where I can load and setup a particular object. Also, what about with sessions as well. I would like to call some library when a user session begins and possibly kill that object when the

Suspend fails, "not managed by Xend lifecycle support"
I have a dom0 (Linux) with one domU (also Linux). I haven''t tried suspend and restore before, but it seems easy enough. But when I try it I get the error: % sudo xm suspend evil Error: Domain is not managed by Xend lifecycle support. ...Really? I can use other xm commands to query the domU, including xm console. The domU had to get there somehow, and since xm is the only way I

latency between LIFECYCLE event and notification generation
Hi, I have registered for LIFECYCLE events of libvirt. But I don't know, 1. about the the latency of these events happening and notification generation. e.g. suppose a VM goes down. How much time it takes to realize that the particular VM has gone down(going to say, DEFINED state) and then notification is generated? 2. Second question is, can someone please explain what are the sequence of

[LLVMdev] ConstantPoolValue lifecycle question
I am investigating the leak in MC/ARM/elf-reloc-01.ll on the valgrind bot. It seems to be leaking two MachineConstantPoolValues. When a ConstantPoolSDNode is created with a ConstantPoolValue, it owns that ConstantPoolValue. In InstrEmitter::AddOperand(), the index of the CPV is taken from a MachineConstantPool, which has two cases: 1) This is a new constant, so a new entry is created. The

Hi! We are giving the following end of life (EOL) statements: For any version before 2.2, we are not going to be providing any patches or fixes. If you are using 2.2.x version prior to .36, we will not be providing anything other

compare performance behavior over a lifecycle
Dear all, I would like to characterize the behavior of a certain product over its lifetime. The purpose is to compare the behavior of experimental versions of the product vs. a baseline version. It's known that the behavior of the product follows a roughly trapezoidal pattern: start-up effect where the performance ramps up, then steady state performance, finally a degradation at the end of

Puppet Development Lifecycle Documentation - How to contribute to Puppet
The documentation on the wiki for the development lifecycle process has been updated in an effort to make it easier for people to get code into Puppet. The goals were to make it correct and easy to follow, so take a look and let us know if there''s anything that could use improvement. http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Development_Lifecycle The intent is not to be rigid
