virt-manager change to bridged networking on CentOS 7.4
Hi All,
I have virt-manager running just fine currently using NAT.
I want to "change" it to bridged network. The GUI is not letting me change
anything on the network section.
How do I change it to be bridged ?
Thanks,

virt-manager and the alternatives
Friends:
I am new to this and don't flame me yet. Here is what I am facing.
I installed libvirt stuff and then I run virt-manager to create a vm.
When I run the virt-manager I am seeing issue
Namespace GtkVnc not available for version 2.0
How do I interact with the console screen so I can hit Enter key and do
<ALT + F2> etc., ?
Is virt-manager my only choice ?

Next virt-manager release?
Does anybody know if there are plans to tag a new release of virt-manager any time soon? That would help with distro packaging.

xfce on CentOS 7: can't lock screen
Ok, trying to bypass the usual flames (I used CDE for years, then
KDE until it got dumbed-down too much, and we all know how GNOME
has turned out) ... I've decided to try out xfce on CentOS 7.
I grabbed xfce from epel by installing the following via yum:
epel-release
@xfce
So far it's pretty good, and is giving me the basic features I'm looking
at without getting in my way.

NetworkManager and bridged networking
Adam Williamson (adamw) has done a fine job at determining how to get
bridged networking working with NetworkManager:
https://www.happyassassin.net/2014/07/23/bridged-networking-for-libvirt-with-networkmanager-2014-fedora-21/
According to Adam, he did the work on Fedora 21 whereas I did it on
Fedora 20. the undesirable features (problems) I found may be corrected
on F21 but I believe that

using both bridged and routed networking
Hello,
I''m using Debian Squeeze with Xen 4.0 HVM. Both running 64bits.
I''ve got 4 domU''s requiring the bridged setup to work, I''ve got an IP
address for each.
Now I need to setup routed networking for the rest of domU''s. I just
changed the configuration in xend-config.sxp and restarted Xen.
Routing started to work, while there are still

Networking troubles on CentOS 7
Hi,
I've been trying to get networking up and running on CentOS 7 in a VMWare (5.5) VM. From inside the machine (connected to console (GNOME desktop)) it looks like network is up. From outside I can't reach it.

Bridge network for virt-manager
Hello. I desire to get bridge network working using virt-manager.
Centos 7 and centos 7 guest.
>From researching I think I need to have a ifcfg-br0 file like this ?
cat ifcfg-br0
DEVICE=nm-bridge0
STP=no
TYPE=Bridge
BOOTPROTO=none
IPADDR=192.168.1.8
PREFIX=32
GATEWAY=192.168.1.1
IPV6INIT=no
NAME=br0
ONBOOT=yes
DELAY=0
Is that for sure needed ? The use that nm-bridge0 as the network name?

Bug#715333: IPv6 security risks with XCP dom0
Package: xcp-xapi
Version: 1.3.2-14
Severity: important
I understand that XCP version 1.3 doesn't support IPv6
This blog talks about enabling it in v1.6:
http://jeffloughridge.wordpress.com/2013/06/16/ipv6-in-xcp-1-6/
However, one observation that I have made is that the dom0 host, in a
default wheezy installation, has kernel IPv6 enabled and appears to have
a link-local address on every

Bug#702428: HVM networking tap/vif bug (Debian bug 702428)
Hi,
I've been testing the Debian packages ahead of the Debian 7 release
(which is very imminent)
I believe this is a serious bug[1] in the package, as it appears that
HVM networking is broken, or at the very least, requires some
undocumented configuration step
Specifically:
- I can start the HVM domU without any vif
- if I attach a vif, the domU will not start

routing problem with domU bridged to two networks
As I received no response on the general CentOS list, I'll repost it
here as the question is about Xen virtual machine routing.
This is my network setup:

Lets assume my dom0's eth2 public ip is 1.2.3.33 and my dmz network
11.22.33.96/255.255.255.224 . I have created NAT from my LAN with
iptables. You can see my /etc/sysconfig/iptables here:

Sorry for the delay - I built a Fedora live image with that patch
applied and it did boot OK.

If the purpose of this is to demonstrate VMs you just want to bridge the physical interface so that the guest can

I'm not an expert on the gcc package, but looking at the changelog it
appears to be be following the upstream 5.x branch:

For me it has so far taken a lot longer. The problem is that the
number of dependent packages is probably 100s.
