[LXC][Openstack] Clarifications needed on usage of libvirt-lxc for openstack
Hi everyone, I've some doubts regarding the usage/working of libvirt-lxc with openstack. I'm doing a project titled "Low density virtualization for Storage cloud" 1. Can i use libvirt for lxc with Openstack swift alone (excluding nova, glance and keystone)? If no what other openstack components should i use for virtualization? (Is it necessary to install openstack nova to do

libvirt on OpenStack
Hi, I am running OpenStack Cluster and use libvirt + cgroup to limit vm’s performance https://wiki.openstack.org/InstanceResourceQuota What I am confusing is.. 1. After running a vm instance with some croup limit applied, I can’t find any related cgroup settings. 2. Can I change limit value after instance is running? like change disk_read_iops_sec from 10 to 20. One of the xml file like below.

How to pin an libvirt lxc to a specific physical CPU core in openstack?
Dear all, In my applications, the real-time performance is very important, so I used 4 containers, with only one application running in each container and a physical CPU core is only dedicated to one lxc. and I must know which container is hosted by which CPU core. That is, I need to pin a specific lxc to a specific CPU core. I can achieve this in a native linux system by the following xml

Graceful shutdown doesn't stop all Gluster processes
Hello Everyone, I am using GlusterFS 9.4, and whenever we use the systemctl command to stop the Gluster server, it leaves many Gluster processes running. So, I just want to check how to shut down the Gluster server in a graceful manner. Is there any specific sequence or trick I need to follow? Currently, I am using the following command: [root at master2 ~]# systemctl stop glusterd.service

I stripped the 3.3 megabyte .tar.bz2 of the log file attachment, which is inappropriate for a technical list. Either trim the log to the relevant portion, or host the log externally and have your list email merely give a URL of the externally-hosted file] >

OpenStack+libvirt+lxc: lxcContainerGetSubtree:1199 : Failed to read /proc/mounts
Hi, I'm running OpenStack on CentOS 6.3 to manage lxc instances. And running into series of problem relating libvirt and lxc interaction. For example, libvirt_lxc segfault ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=874549) which has an upstream fix. And another bugs such as fail to start when SELinux disabled. Finally, I decides to adopt libvirt 0.10.2, self compiled from

Listen to ARI events
Ok that worked. Since I have not declared a statis app called “test”, does that mean any non-existent app name on the URL will subscribe to all system events? Questions related to the snapshot
Hi, I faced two problems with the snapshot: First issue, I can use the snapshot functions via the virsh correctly such as snapshot-list. And when I removed the snapshot XML files from /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/snapshot/**/, I don't see the snapshot of the Virtual Machine any more. That's correct. But after I copying the XML files back, I can't see the the snapshot as well. Only if I

[PATCH] v2v: -o openstack: Check openstack binary exists before running it.
Improves the error message when openstack is not installed: $ virt-v2v -i disk fedora-28.img -o openstack virt-v2v: error: no binary called ‘openstack’ was found on the $PATH. We use this program to communicate with OpenStack so it must be installed to use this output mode. --- v2v/output_openstack.ml | 17 +++++++++++++++-- 1 file changed, 15 insertions(+), 2 deletions(-) diff --git

AW: debian Lenny -> Squeeze domU mdX software raidmigration - failed to assemble arrays
Hi, to make transitions more convenient, I've done this by using uuid instead of device names. If you ls -l /dev/disk/by-uuid inside your domU, you'll see something like lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 10 5. Who's using OpenStack Cinder & Gluster? [ Was Re: [Gluster-devel] Fwd: Re: GlusterFS removal from Openstack Cinder]
Joe, Agree with you on turning this around into something more positive. One aspect that would really help us decide on our next steps here is the actual number of deployments that will be affected by the removal of the gluster driver in Cinder. If you are running or aware of a deployment of OpenStack Cinder & Gluster, can you please respond on this thread or to me & Niels in private
