Re: virsh channel
I understand that. And since socket paths are different on every VM startup - is there a virsh command to get paths of currently running VM? linear mixed model question
Hello, I wanted to fit a linear mixed model to a data that is similar in terms of design to the 'Machines' data in 'nlme' package except that each worker (with triplicates) only operates one machine. I created a subset of observations from 'Machines' data such that it looks the same as the data I wanted to fit the model with (see code below). I fitted a model in

virsh dump
Hi I have both host and KVM/QEMU guest VM running linux. Questions: What are the constituents of the virsh dump? - What all areas does it dumps? - Is it same as taking guest VM's core dump via kexec/kdump? - Does it include QEMU's info to debug qemu-level issues? Thanks much in advance. >harish -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

Understanding the contents of virsh dump --memory-only
Hello, I was trying to understand the ELF file generated by the virsh dump (--memory-only) command. I have successfully generated a dump of the VM memory using this command. I specifically am trying to understand the loadable segments of this ELF file. I ran readelf -a <filename> to get the information that I need. Below shows the details of the loadable segments in a much better format

virsh edit problems
I've got a problem where I can't access my console (well, I can', but I can't type in a password), which I don't think is a libvirt issue but any help or commentary is certainly welcome http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.kvm.devel/79561 , and I'm trying to debug it by trying out different console/serial options in my .xml file, and I can't change them. [LLVMdev] Could LLVM or Clang go backward to modify c source code?
OK. Thank you. What I want to do is: Fix source code in-place, then feed it to compiler normally. I assume I can fix source code in-place using clang::SourceManager, but I cannot find the appropriate API. Now I know that way is infeasible. Thanks again. 2011/5/5 Joshua Warner <joshuawarner32 at gmail.com> > Wen-Han, > > It sounds like there are two problems here: first is

Finding cause when "virsh list" hangs
Hi, Did something dumb - had two VM hosts with DRBD mirroring of VMs on the same UPS, which failed and crashed them both. While I've got VMs running now on both, "virsh list" and "virsh start" and so on are just hanging. I'm not seeing it log anything in these instances - just hanging. Both systems are Ubuntu 10.10, one with the stock libvirtd 0.8.3 and one with

After a 'virsh blockpull', 'virsh snapshot-list --tree' o/p does not reflect reality
Hi (Eric?), A couple of questions while using the 'virsh blockpull' Summary: 1] Created snapshots this way: base<-snap1<-snap2<-snap3 (online, external snapshot --disk-only) 2] I did a 'virsh blockpull' from snap2 into snap3 3] Next, did another 'virsh blockpull' from snap1 into snap3 - Here, 'qemu-img info /path/to/snap3' shows its backing file

[PATCH 0/1] v2v: Add the test-harness used by external tests.
As I'm now working through the enormous virt-v2v/virt-p2v bug list, we need a high quality set of tests to ensure that we don't accidentally regress some old OS/hypervisor combination while making changes. The test cases are going to be huge, so we cannot possibly distribute them in libguestfs. Furthermore many of them have licensing problems which means we cannot redistribute them at

SELinux vs. logwatch and virsh
Hello everyone - I am stumped ... Does anyone have suggestions on how to proceed? Is there a way to get what I want? The environment: CentOS 7.0 with latest patches. The goal: I want logwatch to include a report on the status of kvm virtual computers. The problem: When run from anacron, SELinux denies permission for the virsh utility. Here is a portion of the logwatch output:
