libvirt + openvswitch, <parameters interfaceid='x'/> seems less-than-useful?
Hey folks, I'm working on setting up a Cuckoo sandbox malware lab at home, and can't seem to get openvswitch and libvirt to work together as-documented. I'm not subscribed to the list, so please reply-all. Thanks in advance! I've debugged this, and I think the interfaceid stuff in network XML isn't doing much besides setting a custom interfaceid in an OpenVSwitch table that

network filter and openvswitch bridge
Hello all! I try to use network filters for openvswitch interfaces.  This is the xml configuration of my bridge interface <interface type='bridge'>    <mac address='00:11:22:33:44:55'/>    <source bridge='virbr1'/>    <virtualport type='openvswitch'>         <parameters interfaceid='0529d6b5-627c-4330-803f-0d7018e6d496'/>

Attach libvirt guest to an existing openvswitch port
Good day gentlemen. I am building a study project and trying to configure openvswitch vlans outside libvirt by means of openvswitch itself. Somehow with interface types 'bridge' and 'network', libvirt does attach domain to the existing port specified in <target dev=''/>, wiping the exixting settings and always deletes this port upon domain shutdown, thus making me

Libvirt "tc ingress qdisc" automatically removed by ovs vlan tag setting, how?
With outbound QoS setting in Libvirt XML, libvirt will add a tc ingress qdisc for traffic shaping. Then if you set VLAN tag to that tap device, this qdisc will automatically gone by no reason. Could anyone shed some lights where should I look into? I'm really confused and got no clue here. Thanks! Steps to reproduce -- # virsh start instance-name # virsh dumpxml instance-name ...

Unable to provision VM attaching it directly to a OVS bridge
Reposting from virt-tools mailing list: Hi! I'm facing a problem that could be triggered by some lacking of support from libvirt on Open vSwitch (or could be my mistake). I have interests in researching on virtual networks and SDN. To keep things simple, I've decided to use libvirt/virt-tools to manage VM's since my focus is on the network, instead of using a full feature system

Hi everyone, I'm forwarding this mail that I wrote to OpenVSwitch dev list because I think that you could maybe help me a little :-) What did you think about the patch to libvirt that I'm using?. At least, it worked for me :-) Thanks. Ernesto ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Ernesto Domato <edomat at gmail.com> Date: Mon, Mar 4, 2013 at 2:09 PM Subject: OpenVSwitch

I have tried using vif-openswitch network script for bridging, while adding datapath using ovs-dpctl add-dp xenbr0 it is added but ovs-dpctl dump-flows xenbr0 it is getting ovs-dpctl: opening datapath (No such device). OpenVswitch with KVM virtual machines
Hey, I have KVM installed on my Fedora 17 box. I added the network interfaces of the virtual machines to the openvswitch bridge as follows: ____ ____ / VM1\______br0_______/ em1\ \____/ | \____/ | _|_ /VM2\ \____/ virbr0 is the virtual network switch VM1 and VM2 are on the same subnet having tap interfaces vnet0 and vnet1 respectively. em1 is the default

Re: Virtual Bridge "Network" for Sandbox
Thanks Laine, I will take a look at Open vSwitch, it looks interesting. I am a generalist, I need to know enough about a lot of things to get many different tasks done, but do not have the in depth knowledge required to "patch" anything.  If I manage to wrangle a working solution should I post it? Needless to say I would be supportive of said feature being implemented by those

Bug#1067151: xen-utils-common: vif-openvswitch ignores MTU
Package: src:xen Version: 4.17.3+10-g091466ba55-1~deb12u1 Severity: wishlist I wasn't sure if this script comes from Debian or Xen or somewhere else, so I thought it safest to report it here. /etc/xen/scripts/vif-bridge handles MTU settings in the vif, but the otherwise similar /etc/xen/scripts/vif-openvswitch does not. I added it in, here's the diff-c and the full fixed file is also
