SOLVED: failed to connect to the hypervisor
Ubuntu, for the loss. Turned out to be an apparmor issue; as I hadn't
touched the profiles, it must've been something else going on.

Hi,
I have compiled and installed libvirt from git checkout
and started libvirtd service. The version is 5.3.0 and
I have done system-wide installation.
When I do a `virsh list`, I get the following error:
error: failed to connect to the hypervisor
error: Unable to encode message header
Similarly, the libvirtd instance shows the following error:

channel device "state" value missing within OpenStack Kilo version
Hi,
I've installed a OpenStack KILO all-in-one .
For private need , I've to add a channel device to all my GUESTS on my compute node.
It works fine (e.g. via a virsh command).
Problem is that , in the xml describing the Guest , this 'state' value :
<target type='virtio' name='agent' state='disconnected'/>
showing if the channel is connected

Bandwidth requirements for 1, 000, 000 minutes a month
This may expose my ignorance, but here goes :)
I've been asked to figure out how much bandwidth would be needed to handle
1,000,000 minutes a month.
Here's the environment:
) All calls are received via SIP.
) All calls use the ulaw codec.
) Calls average 10 minutes in duration.
) The "busiest" hour will account for 10% of the daily total.
This is how I'm figuring

[libvirt-1.3.2]'Disconnected from qemu:///session due to I/O error'
Hi.
Since the update to libvirt-1.3.2, virsh keeps disconnecting from qemu:///session.
Weirdly enough, qemu:///session works fine for root, and qemu:///system works for both the user and the root.
With the same configuration(tarball with files from /etc/libvirt attached), libvirt-1.3.1 works without problems.
From the virsh debug log(attached):

GSM codec bandwidth
I've a question about the bandwidth consumed by IAX2/GSM.
According to the wiki page, the GSM codec should run about 13 kilo-bits/sec
for a voice encoding.
However, watching gkrellm when I initiate a call to Digium, it looks like the
channel is taking a consistent 5-6 kilo-bytes/sec. That's a lot more
bandwidth than it should take. Is there perhaps a setting I have wrong

The socket connection to libvirtd / other daemons was abruptly
closed. Essentially you can almost always ignore this error
message as being mostly harmless.

OpenStack+libvirt+lxc: lxcContainerGetSubtree:1199 : Failed to read /proc/mounts
Hi,
I'm running OpenStack on CentOS 6.3 to manage lxc instances. And running
into series of problem relating libvirt and lxc interaction.
For example, libvirt_lxc segfault (
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=874549) which has an upstream
fix. And another bugs such as fail to start when SELinux disabled.
Finally, I decides to adopt libvirt 0.10.2, self compiled
