Re: a VM does not get dhcp
Okay. I may be missing something; from what you explicitly write about
subnets, it sounds like you only have one, but if you don't have two
subnets, why do you need a DHCP relay? SO. Assuming you have two
subnets:
* It sounds as if your DHCP request is generating an ACK.
* I'm 99% sure your ACK has to traverse the DHCP helper and wend its way
back to the originating host.
So

configuring dhcp-relay / Shorewall
In our LAN a Linux-router connects 2 subnets. On this router dhcrelay is
running.
For several reasons we have to run a firewall on this box. But what is
the right way to configure dhcrelay using Shorewall???
Thanks.

pxe weirdness
I know that this is not a pxelinux/syslinux question (yet), but I am
having a weird issue with a HP ML370.
It is using HP UNDI PXE 2.1 (build 082) v 3.1.15
I successfully get an IP address from my DHCP server, but the machine
fails when it attempts to make it's TFTP connection with:
"PXE-E32 - TFTP Open timeout"
It never gets the pxelinux.0 file.
The odd thing I noticed was

how to make dhcrelay service use libvirt's interfaces?
hi everybody
in my libvirtd I use bridge with route forward mode,
Problem for me is dhcrelay.service on host which is starting
before libvirtd thus not listening on libvirt interface.
OS is RHEL7.
I wonder if you know how to fix it, besides restarting
dhcrelay that is.
many thanks

dhcp lease time hardware in script at dhcpd/Bind/Samba wiki page
There seems to be a slight issue with the instructions at the following
wiki page:
https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Configure_DHCP_to_update_DNS_records_with_BIND9
The /usr/local/bin/dhcp-dyndns.sh script seems to use a hardwired value
for the lease expiry time of 3600 - independent of whatever is
configured in dhcpd.conf. With the examples provided, it should work, as
the example dhcpd.conf

bluetooth nap and internet access problem

I''m trying to configure my desktop as a bluetooth network access point for my
ipaq (as explained in http://www.stolk.org/debian/bluetooth.html).
I''m running shorewall version 2.2.1 on debian testing with a local network via
eth0 and internet access via eth1. I''ve created a bridge br0 for eth0 and
bnep0 and activated bridging in shorewall. dhcpd is listening

Users like comments in their config files. Your script:

ISC DHCP failover
Anybody have any experience with setting up dhcpd in failover mode
between two servers? I set this up on a couple of servers, and it seems
to be working, but I don't think it is working "right". It appears both
servers are replying to all requests (which for renewals works okay
because they both give the same address, but new requests get two
different responses). I thought that

dhcp server
Hi all,
this is my first post on this list, hope someone can help me.
I have to run a dhcp server on CentOS release 5.5 (Final).

DHCP without network access
Hi,
I've got a box with CentOS 4.2 x86_64 which had no DHCP access for a few
hours, now I can't ping it (I'm pretty sure the box is still up). I
expect the DHCP lease has timed out and the box has lost it's IP, I was
expecting it to reacquire it once the DHCP came back up (configuration
problem) - but no luck. Is this a known problem? Any solution/workaround?

Client machine cannot acquire the IP from dhcp server
Hi, syslinux:
I use pxelinux to install Linux from network. Currently, my problem is:
The first time, the client machine can acquire the IP address from
dhcp server but at the second time, the client machine cannot acquire
the IP again.
The only way is to remove the /var/lib/dhcp/dhcpd.leases file in
server and restart the dhcpd service. Then the client machine can get
the IP again.

Securring DHCP, with DDNS
Hi,
Ok it's better like this!:-) The dhcp failover mode works well and 2
windows 7 client PC are well handled.
They can have an IP and addresses are created/deleted in the DNS
successfully.
but...
I try to remove my 2 old windows 2000 AD server from the production's
LAN and put my 2 new Samba4 instead.
The dhcp servers works fine but not really the DDNS.
We have this kind of error
