4.3.0-3 fresh build - hvmloader Triple fault on VCPU0
When using the 4.3.0-3/4.3.0-3+b1 xen packages from the Debian archive, things work fine. However, when we compile the xen=4.3.0-3 source package ourselves, we run into an issue launching an HVM. As soon as the HVM bios is loaded, VCPU0 gets a triple fault and the HVM is destroyed (this is with "loglvl=all guest_loglvl=all hvm_debug=3" boot options). (XEN) HVM1: Multiprocessor

[PATCH v2 0/3] hvmloader: Make ROM dependencies optional
This patch set mainly allows the user to build a seabios or rombios only version of hvmloader. In addition, when building a seabios only hvmloader, Option ROMs like vgabios and etherboot are no longer required, and therefore can be disabled from the build. Dependency on the bcc compiler can also be avoided the same way. v2: Separate patches for separate issues Introduced config option to

Fun with Samba Panics
Well, after some other pretty horrible issues with sessionid.tdb (which I think are fixed by upgrading the version of Samba on the client to 2.2.2 as well), I have some other fun. how to load different bios into qemu
Hello. I'm using debian squeeze with libvirt and kvm and I need to load a newer version of seabios into qemu. I'd like to do it without overwriting seabios in the debian package because that might be overwritten on the next update. I hopend that the <loader> directive in the config would work but it doesn't. thanks for any ideas. mk

Upgrading 2.2.0 to 2.2.2
I have a stabily running Samba 2.2.0 operation in place. I've very happy and for once don't have to fight with a box to do file sharing. I've worked around some issues I've got (like ownership and ACLs) that are not directly samba problems, in fact they are probably Administrator problems. However, I've reached an impass. I can no longer use 2.2.0 because the big beast of

[PATCH v2 0/2] Use -bios bios-fast.bin where supported.
This commit uses -bios bios-fast.bin if available, which basically stops SeaBIOS from trying to do PCI probing during boot, which is a waste of time when using the -kernel option. v1 -> v2: - Rebase on top of Pino's work. This still has 3 dependencies: - The qemu memoization work (v2). - Support for '-L ?' in qemu:

4.3.0-3 fresh build - hvmloader Triple fault on VCPU0
I've tracked down the issue to the seabios package being updated to 1.7.4-1 from 1.7.3-3. When Xen is built with the older version, everything works fine. In fact, I bisected the issue down to the following SeaBIOS commit: http://review.coreboot.org/gitweb?p=seabios.git;a=commit;h=e144bb7af49ca8756b7222a75811f3b85b0bc1f5 I don't know if this group is interested in tracking down the

[xen-unstable] FATAL PAGE FAULT when shutting down guest with pci passthrough using MSI interrupts
Hi Jan, It seems the last changes to xen-unstable to implement multi-msi-irq''s cause some trouble. The guest starts and works fine. But it causes a xen crash when shutting the guest down. Hello, All! Is it possible to use binary packages build from http://resources.ovirt.org/pub/ovirt-3.5/rpm/el7/SRPMS/qemu-kvm-ev-2.1.2-23.el7_1.3.1.src.rpm with plain CentOS 7.1 and use all other packages from CentOS (libvirt, virt-manager, etc) Is it have reasons, if I not use live migrations and qcow2 snapshots?
