DBus API for libvirt
Hello,
For a variety of reasons I am interested in a D-Bus interface for
libvirt.
Primarily for use with http://cockpit-project.org/ for which it
would be very easy to write a web interface for libvirt, given a D-Bus
interface for libvirt, but writing using the raw libvirt RPC protocol
would require writing a new Javascript library for parsing/encoding that
protocol. But there are other nice

Ah, in this case it's virt-install, quite right. My mistake.
Still, then, what would be best way to have some initial configuration

Nouveau and multi-monitor setup for Quadro NVS450 (G98)
Hi,
I have a NVidia Quadro NVS450 graphics card with on screen (4800 x 1200
pixels) over three monitors. I use the proprietary NVidia modules to
achieve accelerated 2D graphics and display effects.
Since about the beginning of 2014, probably related to changes in the
X11 or compositing manager, I experience screen lockups lasting from few
seconds to several minutes. I therefore would like to

Configuring default network/storage for qemu:///session
Hi libvirt-user,
If I run (as a normal user):
virsh -c qemu:///session net-list --all
virsh -c qemu:///session pool-list --all
I see a default network and a default pool. And indeed, these appear in
the persistent configuration. It seems these are created the first time
libvirtd is (auto)started in qemu:///session mode. Is it possible to
configure the attributes of the default network and

samba-tool ldapcmp attribute order
Hi List,
I successfully added a new schema to my DCs a couple of weeks ago (and
didn't do anything with it yet.) Today I wanted to edit the schema some
more but found the samba-tool ldapcmp command and ran it between my two DCs:

Greetings!
I'm running Samba 2.2.5 on HP-UX 10.20.

Changing the centos name on boot
I am kinda getting a tweaked distrubution with CentOS, So this is kinda
rebranding. I am not trying to change the hostname, trying to change the
System OS name in the on boot screen.
I have changed the grub configuration file and it reflects in the Boot OS
selection screen, login screen. But only in the on boot screen does it not
reflect. My search led me to something called plymouth, and the

selective virsh host permissions
As a Systems Administrator, I would like to grant permissions to a certain
VM using unix groups. In this example there is a hypervisor with VMs
A,B,C,D and there is a group called fortadmins. The solution I am searching
forI would just allow fortadmins to use libvirt/virsh commands on VM D.
Does libvirt/virsh provide any way to easily accomplish this goal?

unix exts / wide links / symlinks
Hi!
How can I let recent smbd versions let unix clients access and resolve 'wide'
symlinks locally? My goal is that clients may use any kind of symlink (internal
and external to a mounted share) like on any other unix-style file system
without smbd interfering.
My understanding is that since version 3.4.6, smbd effectively denies access of
clients to 'wide' symlinks, i.e. out of

XP & 2000 Printer problem
I'm having a problem with my XP & 2000 pc's, with printers.
During the initial installation and configuration of these machines,
everything is fine. But any printer added to the network AFTER the
initial config of the winXP & win2000 pc's, isn't available to these
machines.
So... if I add any printers to my network, I can't use them with my
winXP or win2000
