P2P live migration with non-shared storage: fails to connect to remote libvirt URI qemu+ssh
Migration without --p2p works just fine, ie. the below works: $ virsh migrate --verbose --copy-storage-all \ --live cvm1 qemu+ssh://kashyapc@devstack3/system Migration: [100 %] Result: - On the source host, the guest is shut off - On the destination host, the guest is live migratied successfully Migration with "--p2p" fails, a simple test below:

Re: Efficient live disk backup with active blockcommit : Failed 'block-commit': Could not reopen file: Permission denied
This is not a libvirt/redhat question… With your method you can only revert to versions which are available in the standard repositories. You’ll have to download the packages manually to force a different version. Use with caution. There is a reason why the version isn’t in the standard repositories. Migrate hangs at 99%
Hello guys! We have a lot of virtual machines and I recently tried out the migrate feature of libvirt. It works like a charm, even without shared storage, but when we try to migrate a VM under a little pressure (a HTTP server gets some 1-5 requests/sec) the migration process hangs at 99%. After we stop the stressing of the VM, the migration immediately finishes. I'm using the following

live migration via unix socket
Hey, Over in KubeVirt we're investigating a use case where we'd like to perform a live migration within a network namespace that does not provide libvirtd with network access. In this scenario we would like to perform a live migration by proxying the migration through a unix socket to a process in another network namespace that does have network access. That external process would live

Covariance-Variance Matrix and For Loops
Hello, I am very new to R (as my Subject probably indicates). I want to do something that should, I think, be very simple. I have five vectors in a list and I want to construct a covariance matrix out of them. Given a 5X5 matrix cvm1, and the list of vectors, cvm1_list, I thought the following would work (sorry cannot find code tags): for(i in 1:5){ for(j in 1:5){ cvm1[i,j] <-

the protect flag - P doesn't work with --relative option ?
Hi, Basically, I want to preserve some of directories on destination side conditionally and hence, I choose to use --filter option mentioned in rsync man pages. I noticed that --filter option works as expected when I don't have --relative option used but in below case it doesn't work. rsync -avz --relative --delete --filter='H /mydir2' --exclude='- /preserve' mydir1/.

incremental directory searche in rsync 3.0.6
Hi, I was in under impression that rsync 3.0.5/3.0.6 creates all the missing directories in the path but I think I am wrong. Could any one tell me is it possible to create all missing dirs in path at destination side if not exists. Currently, I have been getting below errors. rsync -avz /tmp/mytest/rsync-test/dir-test/parent-dir/ desthost:/tmp/mytest/rsync-test/dir-test/parent-dir/ sending

Clarification about virsh migration options
I am trying to work out what all the options are for migrating a KVM machine to another KVM machine, without using shared storage. The documentation is not quite verbose and not intuitive, so I'm hoping someone can explain this to me. The man pages show this syntax: migrate optional --live --p2p --direct --tunnelled --persistent --undefinesource --suspend --copy-storage-all --copy-storage-inc

"smbclient -p <port>" appears to be broken in Samba 2.x
I posted this problem as a question to this list a while ago and got no reply. I submitted it as a bug, but found that "samba-bugs@samba.org", no longer accepts bug reports, even though the web page says to send them to that address. Wondering if the option had been intentionally discontinuted without updating the man page, I made a quick check of the source and found that the "-p

rsync -vt shows directories considered?
Passing the -t option to rsync seems to cause -v to show each directory that is considered, while -v without -t doesn't. Is this a known bug or intended feature? Or is there a way to defeat this? I'd like -v to show the files transmitted, but not the directories that were considered. This command: rsync -urzCv ./ desthost:/path ...shows only the files transferred. While this
