Re: Remove Virtual bridge and DNSMASQ
HI Michal Thank you for explaining. I have this situation in a number of production servers where we would always use static IPs for the host and VMs. In such case we have no requirement for NATed network in the future. And we we ever do, we can rely on a DHCP server within the LAN to provide IPs to the VMs. I'll look to remove both libivirt-daemon-driver-network,

Calendar and address book with Dovecot
Hi all I recently install Postfix and Dovecot, and so far so good. My assumption was that calendar and address book (similar to Gmail calendar or address book) are part of Dovecot. However I do not see anything concerning them in any of the docs I have read so far. What other software (ideally open source, free) do I need in other to have Calendar and address book so my users can manage their

Issues with installing Libvirt 1.2.7 on Ubuntu 12.04
Hi, I am trying to manually install libvirt 1.2.7 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (64bit). I have installed libxml2-dev libgnutls-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev python-dev, but I am facing dependency issues for libdevmapper libraries. Is there any workaround for this dependency? OR is there any other way to install libivirt 1.2.7 on Ubuntu 12.04. Following is the output of the error #apt-get install

KVM - Network bridge issue - lots of overruns
Hi everybody I've a very big network problem with some server running CentOS with KVM and some linux-like VMs on the top of it. The vm's network is bridged with a physical dedicate NIC (an Intel PRO/1000) with 2.4.14-NAPI driver (but the problem persists with various versions of the driver) and the CentOS version is 6.4 (same problem with a 5.7 sever) with all the last updates.

Erratic local hostname resolution with Dnsmasq
Hi, My local server is running CentOS 7. The machine has two NICs and is acting as a gateway. For DHCP and DNS, I'm using Dnsmasq. I have a strange little problem with local hostname resolution. Before going into more details, here's my configuration. [root at nestor:~] # ifconfig enp2s0: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.0.2 netmask

So I have something like this Ovh (the provider of the server

poor network performance to one of two guests
G'day, I have a host running two kvm guests. One of them gets very poor network performance, testing with iperf I get ~10MBit/sec to guest A, >400MBit/sec to guest B (running iperf between the host/guest). Both guests are using the same bridge: Guest A: <interface type='bridge'> <mac address='54:52:00:75:24:91'/> <source

Network inoperable with QEMU arm example image
I am running Fedora 16 64bit and installed libvirt. I have the VM running with arm emulation with this one issue I can't figure out. I used Virtual Machine Manager to manage the VM and can access its console there. The Ethernet appears to be eth1 and the guest can set an IP on it etc. However, I cannot see any traffic from the Host when dumping any of the interfaces. I've tried
