[PATCH nbdkit 2/2] Add insert function and use the new vector library in several places.
This extends the vector library with an insert function. It is more
expensive than appending, but this does not affect existing code using
vector and can be used in new places without making those uses more
expensive.
We use this function in nbdkit-extentlist-filter, nbdkit-eval-plugin
and the sparse library.
This is refactoring, so should not affect functionality at all.
However during the

[PATCH nbdkit] include: Annotate function parameters with attribute((nonnull)).
Should we use attribute((nonnull)) at all? There's a very interesting
history of this in libvirt -- try looking at commit eefb881 plus the
commits referencing eefb881 -- but it does seem to work for me using
recent GCC and Clang.
I only did a few functions because annotating them gets old quickly...

Cross-project NBD extension proposal: NBD_INFO_INIT_STATE
I will be following up to this email with four separate threads each
addressed to the appropriate single list, with proposed changes to:
- the NBD protocol
- qemu: both server and client
- libnbd: client
- nbdkit: server
The feature in question adds a new optional NBD_INFO_ packet to the
NBD_OPT_GO portion of handshake, adding up to 16 bits of information
that the server can advertise to the

[PATCH nbdkit v2 0/2] Use of attribute(()).
v1 was here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-January/msg00008.html
In v2 I have provided two patches:
The first patch extends attribute((nonnull)) to most internal
functions, but not to the external API.
The second patch uses a macro so that attribute((format)) is only used
in the public API on GCC or Clang. At least in theory these headers
could be used by a C compiler which

[PATCH 0 of 4] Use superpages on restore/migrate
This patch series restores the use of superpages when restoring or
migrating a VM, while retaining efficient batching of 4k pages when
superpages are not appropriate or available.

Diff between attr_accessible and attr_accessor
I''m going though the paper back edition of agile development with Rails. On
page #128 I encountered following lines of code:
attr_accessor :password
attr_accessible :name,:password
What''s the difference between attr_accessor and attr_accessible?

[nbdkit PATCH 04/10] plugins: Wire up in-memory plugin support for NBD_INFO_INIT_STATE
The NBD protocol is adding an extension to let servers advertise
initialization state to the client: whether the image contains holes,
and whether it is known to read as all zeroes. For memory-based
plugins, it is fairly easy to advertise several cases: data and memory
are usually sparse and detecting zero is easy (requires new functions
to the sparse_array common code), although since the sparse

Dear List
I am trying to fit a multinomial model using the mlogit package. Attempting to load
the data into mlogit presents the following error.

[nbdkit PATCH 0/3] Content differentiation during --tls=on
Patch 3 still needs tests added, but it is at least working from
my simple command line tests.

[PATCH] [v2] WIP: ddrescue mapfile filter
This allows to overlay bad sectors according to the mapfile generated by
ddrescue, to then see where sectors are used using fsck and trying to
copy files around.

[nbdkit PATCH] eval: Allow user override of 'missing'
A comment in the code mentioned something that didn't actually work,
but which can be useful for user-directed logging of what other
callbacks they might want to implement.

I haven't pushed this one, becuase I'm not sure if we want it; but it
was easy enough to whip together after an IRC question earlier today.

[PATCH nbdkit v2 1/2] Annotate internal function parameters with attribute((nonnull)).
Annotate some function parameters with attribute((nonnull)). Only do
this for internal headers where we are sure that we will be using
sufficiently recent GCC or Clang. For the public header files
(ie. include/nbdkit-*.h) it may be that people building out of tree
plugins are using old GCC which had problems, or even other compilers
that don't support this extension at all.

[nbdkit PATCH 0/4] More .list_exports uses
Here's changes to the file plugin (which I'm happy with) and a new
exportname filter (which is still at RFC stage; I need to finish
implementing strict mode in .open, and add tests).
I also discovered that we really want .list_exports and .open to know
when they are used on plaintext vs. tls clients for --tls=on, and we
may want to split out a new .default_export callback rather than

[PATCH nbdkit 0/4] server: Add nbdkit_shutdown() call and two new filters.
This adds a new nbdkit_shutdown() API whereby plugins and filters can
request that the server shuts down (asynchronously) during the serving
phase.
Two new filters are added, one of which depends on this feature and
the other not needing it but being somewhat related.
Rich.

[nbdkit PATCH 03/10] filters: Wire up filter support for NBD_INFO_INIT_STATE
The NBD protocol is adding an extension to let servers advertise
initialization state to the client: whether the image contains holes,
and whether it is known to read as all zeroes. Most filters just pass
through the plugin's result (as it is only checked once when first
connecting), but we can do useful things in log (mention the setting),

[PATCH nbdkit 0/13] Port to Windows without using a separate library.
Also available here:
https://github.com/rwmjones/nbdkit/tree/2020-windows-mingw-nolib
After a lot of work I have made the port to Windows work without using
a separate library. Instead, on Windows only, we build an "import
library" (library of stubs) which resolves references to nbdkit_*
functions in the main program and fixes up the plugin, basically the
first technique outlined in

[PATCH nbdkit 0/9] Generic vector, and pass $nbdkit_stdio_safe to shell scripts.
This was a rather longer trip around the houses than I anticipated!
The basic purpose of the patch series is to set $nbdkit_stdio_safe to
"0" or "1" in sh and eval plugin scripts.
To do that, I ended up adding a nicer way to manipulate environ lists,
and to do that, I ended up adding a whole generic vector
implementation which is applicable in a lot of different places.

[PATCH nbdkit v2] New filter: limit: Limit number of clients that can connect.
This is a second version of the limit filter. v1 was posted here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2020-March/msg00015.html
I didn't bother to repost the other three patches because they are the
same.
The difference is this version of the filter takes security more
seriously. It shouldn't be possible for malicious clients to connect
more than limit=N times to the plugin now,
