[nbdkit PATCH v2] eval: Rebuild hard link if git breaks it
Commit 39b40750dd works if you rely on 'make clean' after a git update, but not if you rely on incremental 'make'. Git likes to update files by creating new inodes, which strands hard links. We could either use symlinks, or as done here, add a dependency to force the hard links to be rebuilt as needed. Fixes: 45b4877fde Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> ---

[PATCH nbdkit 0/5] server: Add .get_ready callback.
I like this change. I think we were overloading the config_complete method before to do two different things (complete configuration; do any allocation/housekeeping necessary before we can start serving). The only questions in my mind are whether we want this before 1.18, and whether the name ("get_ready") is a good one. Rich.

[nbdkit PATCH] maint: Rebuild nbdkit if nbdkit.in changes
Tell automake that we want ./nbdkit to be kept up-to-date in the developer's tree. Otherwise, after touching nbdkit.in, you would have to remember to manually run 'make nbdkit'. [PATCH] Fix dependencies on generator.ml
This change adds an explicit dependency on generator.ml for every file it generates, except java files. Java is left for another time because it's considerably trickier. This fixes parallel make, and will automatically re-create generated files when make is run from any directory. It also fixes the problem which efad4f53 was targetting. Specifically, src/guestfs_protocol.(c|h) had an

[nbdkit PATCH] eval: Allow user override of 'missing'
A comment in the code mentioned something that didn't actually work, but which can be useful for user-directed logging of what other callbacks they might want to implement. Signed-off-by: Eric Blake <eblake@redhat.com> --- I haven't pushed this one, becuase I'm not sure if we want it; but it was easy enough to whip together after an IRC question earlier today.

[PATCH nbdkit 1/2] server: Add .after_fork callback, mainly for plugins to create threads.
If you have a plugin which either creates background threads itself or uses a library that creates background threads, it turns out you cannot create these in .get_ready (or earlier). The reason is that nbdkit forks when either daemonizing itself or using the --run option, and fork cancels all the background threads in the child process (the daemonized or captive nbdkit). The only good solution

[PATCH nbdkit 0/5] protocol: Generate map functions from NBD protocol flags to printable strings.
With some crufty sed scripts we can generate functions that map from NBD protocol flags (eg. NBD_CMD_READ) to strings ("NBD_CMD_READ"). This works on GNU sed and with FreeBSD, also with GNU sed's --posix option, so I guess the sed code is POSIX-compatible. Rich.

[RFC nbdkit PATCH 0/4] Progress towards .list_exports

[LLVMdev] Multiple directories in a single library
Hi all, I've previously posted this patch on llvm-commits, but due to a lack of replies, and the fact that this patch is more something to discuss than something to apply, I'm posting this again here. While working on my own backend, I found that things got really messy real quickly, partly caused by the fact that all .cpp files must be in the same directory (lib/Target/TargetName).

[nbdkit PATCH v2 0/8] exportname filter
This is a revision of my .default_export work, plus new work on .export_descriptions and a new exportname filter. I think it is now ready to check in. Things I'd still like in 1.22: - the file plugin should implement .list_exports (patch already posted, but it needs rebasing on this series) - the ext2 filter should override .list_exports when in exportname mode - the nbd plugin should be

[LLVMdev] UPDATE: Makefile.rules Changes (IMPORTANT)
If you're on the new Makefile system, you will want to update your Makefile.rules. The patch below provides some important fixes for parallel builds and dependencies. It also adds some new features like the -local targets. For example, you can now build "all-local" to build the local directory without recursing into subdirectories. See the comments below for details of the change.

If configured with --without-ocaml, the build might fail because the fix added in df5bd5741b37da9cf97d7a76ac2805557aa630db was not active. [nbdkit PATCH] tests: Don't strand hung nbdkit processes
We've recently been hitting a transient hung rpm build when using make 4.3, due to a bug in test-nbd-tls-psk.sh. We're still trying to isolate the correct fix for that bug (it might be in the nbd plugin proper, but more likely is an issue in libnbd's tls handling of connection close), but in the meantime, this patch should at least cause a graceful fail rather than make hanging due to
