Is it worth it though? The new pkg-config file won't be deployed to
users, and it should (hopefully) not break if the locations of the
sources are not changed.
Otherwise a small hint: rename it to e.g. local-pkg-config.sh to

[PATCH libguestfs 0/2] build: Allow programs using libguestfs to be compiled from against build dir.
These changes allow virt-v2v to be compiled against the build
directory of a non-installed libguestfs.
Note that some small changes are also required to common and virt-v2v
itself. I will post those separately.

[PATCH libnbd] Add bindings for Rust language
Still not working, but I took the latest patch and:
- rebased it against libnbd 1.0
- fixed it so it handles new args and cbargs
The generator now runs without warnings.
This patch doesn't handle optargs at all. In C these are converted to
non-optional parameter. Rust doesn't (AFAIK) have optional or
labelled arguments unfortunately.

[PATCH libnbd v2 0/3] Unfinished golang bindings.
These bindings get as far as running very simple connections.
However there are many missing parts still:
* No callbacks.
* No functions which handle buffers (pread/pwrite!)
This is posted just for general early interest, not even for review.

[PATCH libnbd 2/3] build: Allow C programs using libnbd to be compiled against build dir.
We use a similar trick to libvirt and libguestfs to allow external C
programs that use libnbd to be compiled against the built (but not
installed) libnbd with:
../libnbd/run ./configure
make
What actually happens is we have a second pkg-config file
(lib/local/libnbd.pc) which points to the locally built libnbd. The
./run script sets up PKG_CONFIG_PATH to point to this directory.

[PATCH libnbd v3] Add Go language bindings (golang) (RHBZ#1814538).
This feature is roughly finished now, although it needs a few more
tests and some examples.
It's pretty much up to par with all the other bindings, but it lacks a
completely safe AIO buffer. It won't stop you from freeing the buffer
too early) because golang's GC inexplicably lacks a way to declare a
root from C. I can probably do it with a global variable and ref
counting on the

[libnbd PATCH] docs: Add libnbd-security(1) man page
Copies heavily after a similar addition recently made in nbdkit.
---
I'm not sure if .1 or .3 fits better for the man page. With nbdkit,
.1 made sense because 'nbdkit' is a standalone program; but with
libnbd, our only standalone is nbdsh, yet naming it nbdsh-security
seems off.

[libnbd PATCH 0/2] Drop generated file from git
Rich recently patched things to generate one man page per function
rather than libnbd-api.3 (nice), but in doing so got stumped by a
problem with a fresh git clone (automake fails for any 'include'
directive that does not already exist). I've figured out how to hack
around it, but the hack requires GNU make. We already use GNU make
constructs elsewhere (such as $(wildcard)), but

[PATCH libnbd v4] Add Go language bindings (golang) (RHBZ#1814538).
Now runs a complete set of tests, notably including the AIO test.
File descriptors are passed in and out as plain ints (instead of
*os.File) for a couple of reasons: (1) We have to pass the plain int
to syscall.Select. (2) Turning an fd into an os.File causes golang to
set the blocking flag which is deeply unhelpful.

[PATCH libnbd] PROPOSAL Add nbdcp (NBD copying) tool.
This is a proposal for an NBD to/from file copying tool (not actually
written). Obviously this would duplicate functionality which is
already available in qemu-img convert.
The reasons for writing this tool would be:
- to produce a tool which is very focused on the specific needs of
virt-v2v and similar migration scenarios
- to have a small tool with minimal dependencies
- fix some of

[PATCH] perl: Switch to using Module::Build.
Switch from 'ExtUtils::MakeMaker' to 'Module::Build'.
There's not really a huge difference here. The interfacing gymnastics
that we have to do to make Makefile.am and Module::Build talk to each
other is probably a little bit simpler.
I compared the output of 'make install' before and after, and there's
not much difference. 'perllocal.pod' is not

[libnbd PATCH 0/2] Fix docs and testing of completion callback
This is my proposal for fixing the documentation to match practice
(namely, that completion.callback is not invoked in the cases where
the aio call itself reports errors); we could instead try to go the
other direction and tweak the generator to guarantee that both
completion.callback and completion.free are reached no matter what,
but that felt more invasive to me.

[PATCH nbdkit 0/2 v2] golang: Compile against the local nbdkit build.
Version 1 was here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2020-April/thread.html#00160
Version 2 side-steps the objections to the first patch by using a
well-formed alternate nbdkit.pc file and running ordinary pkg-config
against it, so any parsing of --cflags etc will be done by pkg-config.
The first patch is essentially the same idea as:
