Minimum OCaml compiler version
Currently it's OCaml >= 3.11 (http://libguestfs.org/guestfs-building.1.html#full-list-of-requirements). That was chosen because it is the version of OCaml in RHEL 6. But actually libguestfs isn't compilable on RHEL 6 because the version of yajl is too old (there are probably other issues too, but that's the first one I came up against). Can we choose a new minimum version? There

help for segmented package
Hi, I am trying to find m breakpoints of a linear regression model. I used the segmented package. It works fine for small number of predicators and breakpoints.(3 r.v. 3 points). However, my model has 14 variables it even would not work even for just one breakpoints!. The error message is always estimated breakpoints are out of range. Since my problem is time related problem. So I

An argument processing puzzle.
I have been trying to write a function mv(a,b) to move an object a to object b. It returns no value, but only exists for this side effect. Basically it just does b <- a; rm(a). With some checking and prompting about over-writing. The thing is, I'd like to be able to use either call by name or call by value syntax. I.e. I want to set up my argument processing so that mv(a,b)

Understanding of Johansen test.
Dear all, I am struggling to understand the johansen test procedure in the context of co-integration in time series. Yes I understand that this forum is not directly statistics related but still I am posting here hoping that I would get som help. The error correction representation of a VAR[p] model can be written as: Delta y[t] = A[0]*y[t-1] + A[1]*Delta y[t-1] +..............

Re: [PATCH 3/3] v2v: add -o json output mode
If we pushed the baseline of OCaml up by (I think) just a single version then most of this code could be generated automatically from the description in the Types module. It would rely on the "new" (actually rather old) feature called extension points (ppx) which I think was added in 4.02. However in its own terms the idea behind this patch is fine. As I said in the previous email

[PATCH 1/2] tools: Link OCaml programs with -runtime-variant _pic if available.
OCaml has a small runtime which is statically linked into the virt tools (providing things like GC and primitives). Since OCaml 4.03 it has been possible to select variants of this runtime, one of which is compiled with -fPIC, using ‘ocamlopt -runtime-variant _pic’. This has performance implications on i686, but is relatively free on other architectures. Since it (in theory) adds to the

Dell OptiPlex 790 PXELINUX localboot reboot loop
Our site has many Dell OptiPlex 790s, all of which are unable to use the 'localboot' PXELINUX option as they either hang at 'Booting from local disk...' or immediately reboot depending on which SYSLINUX version is used. Many people have suggested using chain.c32 to chain load the local disk as a workaround, but this causes problems with Windows 7 BitLocker as it detects the chain

OCaml 4.09.0 rebuild complete in Rawhide (was: Re: OCaml 4.09.0 will be added to Fedora 32 via a side tag)
This is now complete and soon the new packages will be merged into Fedora Rawhide: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2019-2e0b2d6395 A few non-critical packages failed to build, and I will look at these later unless someone gets around to it before me. The failures are listed at the end. Notable changes: - Release notes: https://ocaml.org/releases/4.09.0.html - ocaml-camlp4

wishlist: revisiting subdomain access in routes.rb
Several folks on the list have, over time, expressed interest in being able to access the subdomain info inside routes.rb. This was discussed in great detail late last year by several folks: http://wrath.rubyonrails.org/pipermail/rails/2006-January/008114.html In summary, routes can''t access the domain, so your best bet is to stick a before_filter in your application.rb. This

Revisiting multiple plots
Suppose I create a multiple plot with zoo, using: index <- ISOdatetime(2004, rep(1:2, 5), sample(28, 10), 0, 0, 0) foo <- zoo(rnorm(10), index) for (i in 1:9) { data <- rnorm(10) z1 <- zoo(data, index) foo <- cbind(foo, z1) } plot(foo) This creates 10 plots on one device, one for each column in foo. Now I want to go back and use abline to draw a line at the mean on each of

Revisiting Samba's interaction with LDAP's ppolicy overlay
Hey folks, Some months back, I entertained a conversation with Volker Lendecke, Adam Tauno Williams, and Simo Sorce about getting Samba to play nice with LDAP's ppolicy overlay. (Thread starts here: http://www.mail-archive.com/samba@lists.samba.org/msg92134.html and ends here: http://www.mail-archive.com/samba@lists.samba.org/msg92214.html) I was wondering if any progress had been made

revisiting the multiple users using single smbd process
We have about 10 citrix servers (WTS 4.0, Citrix 1.8 SP2) that connect up to our file server (Enterprise 3500 Running Solaris 2.6 and Samba 2.0.7). The smb connection to the file server exists as a single smbd process for each citrix server. We belive this is causing a couple of different problems. We've applied the registry "fix" as indicated in the samba digests'.

Revisiting deployment on a dedicated server
I''m in the midst of a few new Rails deployments as well as being tasked to revise an existing older deployment to help improve performance. So, I''m wondering what sort of setup is preferable these days for a dedicated server? The basics I''m aiming to start with are the latest CentOS/RHEL, PostgreSQL, Ruby 2.x, Rails and Apache. Is Passenger still the way to go these

Revisiting SMB and SMP
Hi Samba List, I did a little sniffing around for issues between samba and SMP, but didn't seem to come across any that dealt with the behavior I'm seeing. The general question is: Does samba work correctly in an SMP environment? Apparently OOB it doesn't...but is there a way to make it work? The specifics of my situation are as follows: - Custom-built Debian Sarge

revisiting #613643 - Should include/nut_version.h be removed from nut_2.4.3.orig.tar.gz?
Regid, You suggested we remove nut_version.h from the .orig.tar.gz for NUT: <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=613643> The original intent was that nut_version.h would be generated from "make dist" (or "make distcheck*") when the official nut-X.Y.Z.tar.gz tarball is created. At that point, it is safe to assume that there is no longer any local version

Problems with 4.04-pre14
Hello. I've been testing pxelinux.0 (4.04-pre14) on some laptops: - HP EliteBook 6930P with BIOS F.18. - HP EliteBook 8440P with BIOS F.06. - Dell Latitude E4310 with BIOS A06. When booting pxelinux.0, the machines first display some random letters in different colors and then reboot. We've been using 4.02 for some time without problems. I've tested 4.03 too and it seems to work.
