[PATCH 0/3] RFC: appliance flavours
Hi,
this is a prototype of something I've around for some time.
Basically it is about adding new appliances in addition to the main
one currently used and kept up-to-date automatically: this way it is
possible to create new appliances with extra packages, to be used in
specific contexts (like virt-rescue, with more network/recovery tools)
without filling the main appliance.
It's still

[PATCH] Use guestfsd binary to auto-generate library dependencies for appliance
The ELF NEEDED are used to determine guestfsd's library dependencies
with help from the dynamic linker and the package manager.
This was prompted by Debian bug #972241 which was caused by a
libtirpc package renaming in Debian/unstable because the SONAME had
been changed.

A few patches needed for libguestfs 1.20+ on current Debian systems
Here's what I needed to build and run 1.20 on Debian/unstable.
Perhaps the libcap2 dependency in the packagelist should only be added
if libcap has actually been used in building guestfsd...

[PATCH] btrfs: Fix btrfs_subvolume_list on F18
The output of btrfs subvolume list has changed in F18 to include generation,
which breaks the parsing in btrfs_subvolume_list. This change replaces sscanf
with a more robust regular expression. The new regular expression should also
handle the addition of future unexpected columns.

[PATCH] Add support for Windows dynamic disks (libldm / ldmtool).
This is just an initial version of the patch, not to be
applied. It implements just the diskgroup functions, ie.
corresponding to these ldmtool commands:
* ldmtool scan
* ldmtool show diskgroup <guid>
I have chosen yajl as the JSON parsing library (don't worry,
this is optional). You will also, of course, need ldmtool
which is not packaged in anything except Fedora.

Snapshot question
While reading about NILFS here:
http://www.linux-mag.com/cache/7345/1.html
I saw this:
*One of the most noticeable features of NILFS is that it can "continuously

[PATCH 0/3] added The Sleuth Kit and icat API for downloading inaccessible files
The Sleuth Kit is a filesystem forensic tool for accessing disk volumes and extracting digital evidence from.
http://www.sleuthkit.org/
The icat API allows to download a file from a device given its metadata number (inode). It supports multiple filesystem types.
The icat command allows to access to otherwise unreachable files such as filesystem data structures and deleted files which content is

[PATCH v2] appliance: use ID_LIKE as a fallback for SUSE distro detection
All SUSE distros have a ID_LIKE=suse, including the fake one used
for building that has a ID=Dummy value. Without reading ID_LIKE
on SUSE distros, the generated appliance packagelist is not correct.
This fix reads ID_LIKE as a fallback if ID contains nothing.

[PATCH] Even on Debian, the package containing the diff binary it has been diffutils for two years.
There had been a virtual package "diff" that depended on diffutils, but that's gone in wheezy/sid, too.

[PATCH v2 1/4] appliance: Use dhclient instead of hard-coding IP address of appliance.
qemu in SLIRP mode offers DHCP services to the appliance. We don't
use them, but use a fixed IP address intead. This changes the
appliance to get its IP address using DHCP.
Note: This is only used when the network is enabled. dhclient is
somewhat slower, but the penalty (a few seconds) is only paid for
network users. We could consider using the faster systemd dhcp client
instead.
