Splitting the large libguestfs repo
I got a little way into this. The two attached patches are preliminary work. My proposed split is: libguestfs.git common -> git submodule libguestfs-common.git generator/ lib/ all language bindings C based tools (eg. virt-df, virt-edit, guestfish) guestfs-tools.git common -> git submodule libguestfs-common.git

[PATCH v2 0/2] v2v: Use OVMF secure boot file (RHBZ#1367615).
First version was posted here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2016-August/thread.html#00100 This is semantically the same as the first version. However I've split the patch up into two parts. In the first part, I factor out the UEFI paths so now they are created by the generator and written in the library and v2v/ directory directly, instead of the complex business of having a C

[PATCH libnbd v2 0/3] Unfinished golang bindings.
These bindings get as far as running very simple connections. However there are many missing parts still: * No callbacks. * No functions which handle buffers (pread/pwrite!) This is posted just for general early interest, not even for review. Rich.

[v2v PATCH 0/7] Various build fixes
Just like the similar series that already went in for libguestfs [1], do similar fixes also for virt-v2v, with additional fixes for the builddir!=srcdir case. This will also need the fix to subdir-rules.mk. [1] https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-December/msg00062.html Pino Toscano (7): Update common to latest build: stop shipping files generated by configure build: use the

[PATCH 0/3] Fixing out-of-tree builds
Building virt-v2v out-of-tree does not work and requires several small fixes here and there. [PATCH libnbd 0/4] Miscellaneous Rust cleanups
Add an overview libnbd-rust(3) man page pointing to the real documentation. This is like OCaml & Golang. When reviewing the real rustdocs I noticed they basically converted the man pages into plain text, resulting in lots of problems such as internal links not working, no `code` annotations, etc. So I wrote a simple POD to rustdoc translator. It is by no means perfect, but it fixes many of

[PATCH 0/5] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
This patch series moves some files and directories around but is only code motion (or supposed to be). A new directory, common/, is created for all of the common code which is currently shared in random ways between parts of the project. And src/ becomes lib/ (the largest change, but mostly mechanical). In full this series makes the following changes: src/libprotocol -> common/protocol

[PATCH libnbd v3] Add Go language bindings (golang) (RHBZ#1814538).
This feature is roughly finished now, although it needs a few more tests and some examples. It's pretty much up to par with all the other bindings, but it lacks a completely safe AIO buffer. It won't stop you from freeing the buffer too early) because golang's GC inexplicably lacks a way to declare a root from C. I can probably do it with a global variable and ref counting on the

[PATCH v2 0/7] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
Previous patch series was posted here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-January/msg00059.html v2 simply extends this patch series to cover the extra directories common/edit, common/progress, common/windows and common/parallel. The only remaining item is to consider whether we should rename mllib to something else, mlcommon was my suggestion. Rich.

[PATCH v3 0/6] remove unused build stuff
This is an extended version of: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2019-September/msg00288.html Apparently I forgot it on my tree, so I'm posting that series again, adding an extra cleanup more due to the v2v/common splits. [PATCH] php: add a simple bindtests test
Generate a simple bindtests test for the PHP binding, so it is possible to easily test all the argument types. Unlike the bindtests for other languages, optional arguments are not tested, due to the limitations of optional arguments in PHP (or maybe they way we implement them). --- .gitignore | 1 + generator/bindtests.ml | 63 ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Building libguestfs from git
Looks like libguestfs build is broken, or not documented properly. I tried (based on http://libguestfs.org/guestfs-building.1.html): git clean -dxf ./autogen.sh autoreconf failes with: autoreconf: running: automake --add-missing --copy --no-force configure.ac:38: installing 'build-aux/missing' configure.ac:221: error: required file 'common/mlcustomize/Makefile.in' not found

[PATCH libnbd v4] Add Go language bindings (golang) (RHBZ#1814538).
Now runs a complete set of tests, notably including the AIO test. File descriptors are passed in and out as plain ints (instead of *os.File) for a couple of reasons: (1) We have to pass the plain int to syscall.Select. (2) Turning an fd into an os.File causes golang to set the blocking flag which is deeply unhelpful. Rich.

A quick guide to Mocha
Hello :) Having just gone through the (admittedly simple) API of Mocha to learn how it works, I wrote a quick guide (190 lines) to help others get up to speed. I''ve attached it as RDOC and as HTML. It is a first draft - please help me improve by giving feedback ! Contents : Overview - Quick overview of Mocha Unit testing, mock object and stubs - Very quick introduction to mock

[PATCH] perl: Switch to using Module::Build.
Switch from 'ExtUtils::MakeMaker' to 'Module::Build'. There's not really a huge difference here. The interfacing gymnastics that we have to do to make Makefile.am and Module::Build talk to each other is probably a little bit simpler. I compared the output of 'make install' before and after, and there's not much difference. 'perllocal.pod' is not
