[PATCH nbdkit] freebsd: In nbdkit_nanosleep, fallback to calling nanosleep(2).
Rather than failing to compile on platforms which lack POLLRDHUP such
as FreeBSD, simply fallback to the old method of sleeping.
This leaves the porting suggestions as a comment in case someone wants
to implement a better solution for particular platforms.

[nbdkit PATCH 0/3] More responsive shutdown
We noticed while writing various libnbd tests that when the delay
filter is in use, there are scenarios where we had to resort to
SIGKILL to get rid of nbdkit, because it was non-responsive to SIGINT.
I'm still trying to figure out the best way to add testsuite coverage
of this, but already proved to myself that it works from the command
line, under two scenarios that both used to cause long

[PATCH nbdkit 1/3] server: Add GET_CONN macro, alias for threadlocal_get_conn ().
Since we're going to be calling this function a lot, add a short alias

[nbdkit PATCH 0/4] Fix testsuite hang with nbd-stadalone
Either patch 1 or patch 2 in isolation is sufficient to fix the
problem that Rich forwarded on from an archlinux tester (name so I can
credit them?). But both patches should be applied, as well as
backported to appropriate stable branches, to maximize cross-version
interoperability of nbdkit vs. plugins. Patch 3 will let us detect
future similar bugs much faster. I want patch 4 to ensure that

[PATCH nbdkit 1/4] tests: Rename test-shutdown.sh to test-delay-shutdown.sh.
This is testing the delay filter, and we want to use the name
‘test-shutdown’ in a later commit to test the new nbdkit_shutdown()
API, so let’s rename it.

[PATCH nbdkit INCOMPLETE 0/6] Introduce filters to nbdkit.
This patch isn't complete (patch 6/6 isn't finished) so it's just for
discussion, although it does compile and run.
This introduces to nbdkit a concept of "filters" which can be placed
in front of plugins to modify their behaviour. Some examples where
you might use filters:
* Serve a subset of the data, such as (offset, range) or a
single partition from a disk image.

[PATCH nbdkit filters-v2 0/5] Introduce filters.
Rebased filters patch. Requires current git master + the locks /
thread model fix
(https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-January/msg00128.html)
So a few changes here since last time:
The "introduce filters" and "implement filters" patches are
squashed together.
I introduced a concept of .prepare and .finalize. These run before
and after the data serving phase

[PATCH nbdkit filters-v3 0/7] Introduce filters.
This is still tentative and needs a lot of work, but:
- partition filter works, supporting MBR & GPT
- prepare and finalize methods fixed
- open method can now be changed (allowing readonly flag to be modified)
- thread_model can be limited
I believe I made most of the changes which were previously suggested
in email. I think the only one I didn't was preventing inclusion of
both

[nbdkit] Failure in test-retry-size.sh
This happened on s390 in Koji, once. The key lines from the
log are:
+ start_t=0
nbdkit: sh[1]: debug: retry 1: waiting 1 seconds before retrying
nbdkit: sh[1]: debug: retry 1: waiting 1 seconds before retrying
+ end_t=1
Somehow nbdkit did wait 2 seconds (or at least, nbdkit_nanosleep (1, 0)
was called twice by the retry filter). But in the bash script, time
(as measured by $SECONDS) advanced

[nbdkit PATCH 0/2] more nbd tweaks
I tried reproducing the testsuite failure on test-parallel-*.sh
using the same machine Rich posted a log from, but did not
quickly hit it on a loop of
make -j20 check TESTS=test-parallel-{file,nbd}.sh
But I still think this series can't hurt.

[PATCH 0/9] Add filters to nbdkit.
The first three patches are identical to:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-January/msg00079.html
"[PATCH nbdkit v2 0/3] Refactor plugin_* functions into a backend"
The rest of the patches add filters using the new filter API
previously described here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-January/msg00073.html
This needs a lot more testing -- and tests --

[PATCH nbdkit 0/4] server: Add nbdkit_shutdown() call and two new filters.
This adds a new nbdkit_shutdown() API whereby plugins and filters can
request that the server shuts down (asynchronously) during the serving
phase.
Two new filters are added, one of which depends on this feature and
the other not needing it but being somewhat related.

[PATCH nbdkit 0/4] tests: Move common functions into tests/functions.sh
Combine much common code into tests/functions.sh.
Patch 1: Preparation for patch 3.
Patch 2: Fix a long-standing bug in how man pages links are generated.
Patch 3: Common code for iterating a test function over every plugin.
Patch 4: Common code for starting nbdkit in a test and waiting for the
PID file to appear. This is the largest and most complex of
the patches but is

v1 was here:

v2:
- Fix tab vs spaces in configure.ac.
- To generate list of plugins, use printf instead of xargs.
- Use 'source ./functions.sh' instead of 'source functions'.
- functions.sh: Consistent quoting in foreach_plugin function.
- functions.sh: Change the contract of start_nbdkit so it

[nbdkit PATCH] tests: Make parallel tests work at 512-byte granularity
qemu-io 2.12 will be changing its default alignment to unknown
servers so that it does read-modify-write for anything less than
512 bytes. If we implement NBD_OPT_GO, then we can keep qemu-io
using 1-byte alignment; but until then, this breaks our parallel
tests when using 1-byte alignment because they end up with more
delays than expected (thanks to the read-modify-write). Revamp
the tests to

[PATCH EXPERIMENTAL nbdkit 0/2] Port to Windows using mingw.
The patches following do indeed allow you to compile nbdkit.exe, but
it does not actually work yet. I'm posting this experimental series
more as a work in progress and to get feedback.
Note this does not require Windows itself to build or test. You can
cross-compile it using mingw64-* packages on Fedora or Debian, and
test it [spoiler alert: it fails] using Wine.

Re: [nbdkit PATCH v2 0/4] enable parallel nbd forwarding
This works OK on x86_64, but fails on our fast new Amberwing (aarch64)
machine. I've attached the test-suite.log file, but I'm not very sure
what's going wrong from that.
