As preliminary steps in splitting virt-p2v to an own repository, start making p2v more independent within libguestfs. This is accomplished by the following changes: - generate the p2v kernel config sources & docs at build time using a Perl script, rather than the generator (so no need for OCaml when building from git, and no generated sources in dist tarballs) - create two local test

This patch series moves some files and directories around but is only code motion (or supposed to be). A new directory, common/, is created for all of the common code which is currently shared in random ways between parts of the project. And src/ becomes lib/ (the largest change, but mostly mechanical). In full this series makes the following changes: src/libprotocol -> common/protocol

Hi, this series update libguestfs to a recent gnulib version, so that we can use its new getprogname module, and solve altogether one of the porting issues (the need for 'program_name' by the error module of gnulib), and have a single way to get the name of the current program. ... and a small initial patch which makes it easier to test virt-p2v without having to start up a virtual machine. There is still a bug in Gtk 3 where the GtkTextView on the final (running) dialog ignores gtk_widget_set_size_request and so the window appears just a single pixel high. Rich.

This is basically the same as what I posted earlier today. The main difference is I split out the GDK thread sychronization (removal of) changes from the other Gtk 2/3 changes, which should make it a bit easier to review. Gtk 3 is still not quite perfect. Apart from the problem with the GtkTextView noted before, there are also vertical alignment and padding problems with labels in GtkGrid

These are a prelude to fixing https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1590220 A lot of the virt-p2v configuration code was duplicated manually. These changes make sure that most of it is generated. Rich.

Hi, as it was already discussed on this list, here it is my attempt in splitting virt-p2v in an own repository. Sadly there are things that must be copied from libguestfs, as it cannot be avoided. The approach taken was to run a script (will send separately) to just get the "p2v" subdirectory with its history as own repository, and then add in few followup commits all the bits needed

version 2: - Fixed handling of clean & distclean. - Use 'all-local' instead of 'all'. - Don't use abs_* paths in Build.PL.in. Rich.

Switch from 'ExtUtils::MakeMaker' to 'Module::Build'. There's not really a huge difference here. The interfacing gymnastics that we have to do to make Makefile.am and Module::Build talk to each other is probably a little bit simpler. I compared the output of 'make install' before and after, and there's not much difference. 'perllocal.pod' is not
