nfsv4 in centos?
Greetings
Some time ago I briefly played with NFS. More recently with Samba.
What I am wondering is if NFSv4 is already integrated into Centos 4 from
upstream.
Reference:
http://www.linuxplanet.com/linuxplanet/reviews/6331/1/
if not, is there a timeline? Centos 5 ?
and... is or can NFS be a compatible yet better replacement for Samba?
thanks

noarch concerns? dangers?
Please share some wisdom from the list... :-)
Realistically there is some type of difference between an rpm made for an
arch (like i386 or x86_64 etc) vrs an rpm with noarch
I was just looking at and downloaded these two from dag
perl-Archive-Tar-1.30-1.el4.rf.noarch.rpm
perl-IO-Zlib-1.04-1.2.el4.rf.noarch.rpm
they are the latest and are not assigned to an architecture
there are older rpms of

repos, where is the best place to do a yum install for these two packages

I noticed dag and karan repos appear to have it and my experience and

centos 3.3 to 4.x?
Greetings,
A friend of mine is running 3.3
He asked what I thought about going to 4.4
I imagine it is best to backup and fresh install and migrate old configs and
data
What is the wisdom on the list
I remember going from beta 3 to 3 a long time ago.
Anyone ever upgrade from 3.x to 4.x without problem and how so?
I didn't see a lot on the www other than some apt-get info

Hmm.. where is mod_php?
Hello All.
Is mod_php for apache hiding in a repo somewhere?
I did a yum --enablerepo=centosplus install mod_php
(as googled) but I don't see any mod_php lurking anywhere.
Anyone know what's up?
Thanks
