[PATCH 0/5] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
This patch series moves some files and directories around but is only code motion (or supposed to be). A new directory, common/, is created for all of the common code which is currently shared in random ways between parts of the project. And src/ becomes lib/ (the largest change, but mostly mechanical). In full this series makes the following changes: src/libprotocol -> common/protocol

[PATCH v2 0/7] Rename src/ to lib/ and move common code to common/
Previous patch series was posted here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-January/msg00059.html v2 simply extends this patch series to cover the extra directories common/edit, common/progress, common/windows and common/parallel. The only remaining item is to consider whether we should rename mllib to something else, mlcommon was my suggestion. Rich.

[PATCH 00/12] Refactor utility functions.
This turned out to be rather more involved than I thought. We have lots of utility functions, spread all over the repository, with not a lot of structure. This moves many of them under common/ and structures them so there are clear dependencies. This doesn't complete the job by any means. Other items I had on my to-do list for this change were: - Split up mllib/common_utils into: -

[PATCH v5 00/32] Refactor utilities, implement some APIs in OCaml.
This is a combination of: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-June/msg00046.html [PATCH 00/12] Refactor utility functions. plus: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-June/msg00023.html [PATCH v3 00/19] Allow APIs to be implemented in OCaml. with the second patches rebased on top of the utility refactoring, and some other adjustments and extensions. [PATCH 1/3] build: remove extra libconfig linkage
Some of the C tools were building also config.c as part of the shared sources from guestfish, and thus bringing a dependency on libconfig. Since none of them actually read the libguestfs configuration at all, then exclude fish/config.c from their build, and stop linking to libconfig. --- align/Makefile.am | 3 --- df/Makefile.am | 3 --- edit/Makefile.am | 3 ---

[PATCH] virt-rescue rewrite in OCaml
Hi, I tried to rewrite virt-rescue from C to OCaml. Goals were feature parity with C implementation, smaller codebase and hopefully better maintainability. I still don't know if I've covered everything right. So, please check it out. PS: my git send-email seems to be broken, so I'm sending it from thunderbird Thanks! maros

This is just the utilities part of the patch series from: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-June/msg00103.html I believe this addresses everything raised in comments on that patch series. Rich.

[PATCH] build: build C sources using OCaml API with CAML_NAME_SPACE
This way no non-namespaced OCaml C symbols are used, reducing the risk of clashes with other code. The only exception is ocaml-augeas, which does not build with CAML_NAME_SPACE; it will be fixed upstream, and it affects only ocaml-augeas itself. --- builder/Makefile.am | 2 ++ common/mllibvirt/Makefile.am | 1 + common/mlpcre/Makefile.am | 1 + common/mlprogress/Makefile.am | 1 +

Some fixes for building the Debian package for 1.20.2
I needed to add a few patches to be able to build libguestfs 1.20.2 out of tree. Mostly srcdir/builddir issues -- I think that I had posted something for building the daemon before. As mentioned on IRC, I found that compiling (Ruby bindings) caused config.h file shipped with the Ruby headers to be included rather than ${builddir}/config.h. This can be fixed because the relevant checks can be

[PATCH 0/9] Small bits of non-Linux porting - #2
Hi, continuing what started a couple of weeks ago [1], the attached patch series continues the work in making it easier to build and run libguestfs (in fixed appliance mode) on OSes different than Linux. The provided changes should cause no functional changes on Linux. [1] https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2014-October/msg00176.html Thanks, -- Pino Pino Toscano (9): build: check

[PATCH v2 2/7] lib: Move utilities to new directory common/utils.
Just code motion. This commit makes it clearer what is a utility and what is part of the library. It also makes it clear that we should rename: guestfs-internal-frontend.h -> utils.h guestfs-internal-frontend-cleanups.h -> cleanups.h (?) but this commit does not make that change. --- .gitignore | 10 ++--- Makefile.am
