ggplot & annotating charts
Dear "R-listers" I've been trying to figure out how to annotate charts in ggplot (ie add text to line charts, highlighted boxes etc). By and large, I can get close to what i want with base graphics, but would ideally like to use ggplot whenever possible (additionally, i would like to add text labels automatically to the chart). The code is below I suspect I need to use geom_rect,

kvm/vmware side-by-side?
http://libvirt.org/drvvmware.html says "The libvirt VMware driver should be able to manage any Workstation, Player, Fusion version supported by the VMware VIX API." 1. Does this mean it supports the vmware hypervisor, or just that it understands the disk images and perhaps other cotnrol file info? 2. If it supports the hypervisor, does this mean that kvm and vmware hypervisors can be

[v2v PATCH] docs: remove paragraph about VMware tools on Windows
Starting from libguestfs/virt-v2v 1.39.12, virt-v2v attempts to uninstall the VMware tools from Windows guests, so there is no need to remove them manually before the conversion. Re: [nbdkit PATCH v5 4/4] vddk: Drive library loading from libdir parameter.
Unfortunately this series doesn't work with the real VDDK library :-( I see: nbdkit: debug: vddk: config_complete nbdkit: debug: dlopen shim prefix set to /home/rjones/tmp/vddk-6.7.3/vmware-vix-disklib-distrib/lib64 Then a little bit later during VDDK initialization it fails with: nbdkit: debug: VixDiskLib: Could not load default plugins from

Proposed small change to the command line of virt-v2v when specifying that you want VDDK mode. Rich.

[PATCH v2 1/2] v2v: vddk: Switch to using ‘-it vddk’ to specify VDDK as input transport.
Previously the presence of the ‘--vddk <libdir>’ option magically enabled VDDK mode. However we want to introduce other transports for VMware conversions so this wasn't a very clean choice. With this commit you must use ‘-it vddk’ to specify that you want VDDK as a disk transport. The previous ‘--vddk <libdir>’ option has been renamed to ‘--vddk-libdir <libdir>’ to be

Importing Excel/Openoffice Dates into R
Hi, I would like to import some daily financial data from excel via csv. More specifically, I would like to be able to use the ts.union function from the tseries library as the dates are irregular and I need to line up the dates so that I can place all the variables into one data frame. The trouble is, how do I import the dates from excel into R? At the moment I'm just importing the data

[PATCH nbdkit] v2v: Disable readahead for VMware curl sources too (RHBZ#1848862).
I'm still testing this fix, so let's hold off the review for the moment. Also it may be better to specifically identify problematic servers rather than disabling this for every curl source. eg. I suspect that the problem is the Java server used by VCenter, so we might think about only disabling readahead for that single case. Rich.

[v2v PATCH] vCenter: fix parsing of HTTP status string (RHBZ#1837328)
vCenter 7 answers with an HTTP/2 status string, so we cannot extract the status code from it by using fixed positions in that string. Hence, pick the status code by reading what's after the whitespace.
