Invalid module format errors, supermin waits forever for /sys/block/sdb/dev to appear
After failing to get things to work on a Ubuntu 14.04 host I build a fedora 21 environment to see if Ubuntu may have been the problem and didn't get quite as far so here's an official report per the FAQ directions: - Trying to get guests to build and have network access so package management actions can be done before uploading to openstack image service. - I ran ./run virt-builder

Hello- I've recently upgraded from OEL 6.4 to OEL 6.8. Infiniband Hardware installed on the server prevents me from upgrading the OS version any higher. Kernel Version: Oracle Linux Server Red Hat Compatible Kernel (2.6.32-642.el6.x86_64) Since the upgrade, there have been problems with libguestfs-tools hanging, then timing out. Guestfish errors (Running in VirtualBox)
Hi All, I am trying to run guestfish inside an Ubuntu instance running in VirtualBox. I'm running into problems, and my first question, is this setup even possible? I compiled and installed libguestfs-1.8.4. Running libguestfs-test-tool fails with the following output. Would appreciate any advice, Chris new guestfs handle 0x8b77958 ===== Test starts here ===== LIBGUESTFS_DEBUG=1 library

Concurrent scanning of same disk
Greetings, I am suffering of several weird errors which show randomly and make me suspect some concurrency issue. Libguestfs version is 1.28.1, linux kernel 3.16, libvirt 1.2.9 and qemu 2.1. What I'm trying to do is comparing the disk state at two different point of a guest execution. Disk snapshots are taken through libvirt in different moments (I am aware of caching issue), from such

[PATCH v2 0/7] tests/qemu: Add program for tracing and analyzing boot times.
v1 was here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2016-March/thread.html#00157 Not running the 'hwclock' command reduces boot times considerably. However I'm not sure if it is safe. See the question I posted on qemu-devel: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.emulators.qemu/402194 At the moment, about 50% of the time is consumed by SeaBIOS. Of this, about ⅓rd is SGABIOS

Autodetecting backing file properties when using vol-create-as
Hi all, experimenting with vol-create-as, I think it should autodetect some data - filesize and backing file format, specifically. However, the current implementation require us to specify both filesize and backing file format. Considering that qemu-img already autodetects these data, there are any reason for the lack of autodetect by libvirt? Should I open a bugzilla issue? Below you can
