Agent Forwarding Anomalies on OpenBSD 3.3/OpenSSH 3.6.1
I have a curious situation with four OpenBSD 3.3 hosts. Each of these has public/private keys on each other for inter-host authentication using RSA2 keys. For instance, they're called hostA-to-hostBCD, hostB-to-hostACD, hostC-to-hostABD, and hostD-to-hostABC. The sshd_config files, on each host, look as follows... #; #; /etc/ssh/sshd_config #; Port 22 Protocol 2 ListenAddress

VMware Server 2.0.1 and Centos 5.4
Upgrade to RHEL 5.4's glibc has rendered vmware-hostd inoperable in some systems. I don't know if Centos 5.4 has the same conflict between glibc and VMware Server as RHEL (no reason it shouldn't). If you run VMware Server 2.0.1 make a copy of /lib64/libc-2.5.so (or /lib/libc- 2.5.so) before upgrading to 5.4. If you encounter this problem follow dirkgf 's instructions in

NVDIMM sizes and DIMM hot plug
Hi, I've found out that NVDIMM size and label size matter for regular (non-NV) DIMM hot plug. If the NVDIMM is not aligned correctly, the guest OS will not accept the hot plugged memory and will complain with messages such as Block size [0x8000000] unaligned hotplug range: start 0x225000000, size 0x10000000 The start address above is also reported within <memory> element of the hot

[PATCH v2v] v2v: -it vddk: Don't use nbdkit readahead filter with VDDK (RHBZ#1832805).
This is the simplest solution to this problem. There are two other possible fixes I considered: Increase the documented limit (see http://libguestfs.org/virt-v2v-input-vmware.1.html#vddk:-esxi-nfc-service-memory-limits). However at the moment we know the current limit works through extensive testing (without readahead), plus I have no idea nor any way to test if larger limits are supported by

problems with understanding of the memory parameters in the xml file
Hi guys, despite reading hours and hours in the internet i'm still struggling with "memory", "currentmemory" and "maxMemory". Maybe you can help me to sort it out. My idea is that a guest has an initial value of memory (which "memory" seems to be) when booting. We have some Windows 10 guests which calculate some stuff and i would like to increase

virtio-mem with virt-install to share memory between guest and host on-demand
Hi I'm trying to Passthrough a GPU to a VM and have it still share its free memory with the host (just like it would with virtio-balloon). Is this something virtio-mem is capable of? I've tried to run it, but it immediately took over 9GB of memory: virt-install --name test --cpu cell0.cpus=0,cell0.memory=4194304,cell1.cpus=1,cell1.memory=4194304 --memory

nbdkit, VDDK, extents, readahead, etc
As I've spent really too long today investigating this, I want to document this in a public email, even though there's nothing really that interesting here. One thing you find from search for VDD 6.7 / VixDiskLib_QueryAllocatedBlocks issues with Google is that we must be one of the very few users out there. And the other thing is that it's quite broken. All testing was done using

Slow read performance
Help please- I am running 3.3.1 on Centos using a 10GB network. I get reasonable write speeds, although I think they could be faster. But my read speeds are REALLY slow. Executive summary: On gluster client- Writes average about 700-800MB/s Reads average about 70-80MB/s On server- Writes average about 1-1.5GB/s Reads average about 2-3GB/s Any thoughts? Here are some additional details:

OpenSSH problem report on Linux 2.2.14.
I have been using OpenSSH for a while, and I would like to thank you for the great package. Here is a report of mysterious warning message lines, I get while I use OpenSSH. Is -R --link-dest really hard to use, or is it me?
I've got a problem for which the combination of -R and --link-dest doesn't seem to be quite enough---and I may have discovered a few small bugs as well; test cases are below. [And if someone has a scheme for doing this that doesn't involve rsync at all, but works okay, I'm all ears as well---I'm not the first with this problem.] Here's my problem: I unfortunately need to
