[PATCH] Don't rely on OCaml native compiler for tests
This should make it possible to build useful OCaml bindings on
architectures other than i386 and amd64 (Debian bug #589809).

[PATCH 1/2] hivex: Use OCaml bytecode compiler for caml_raise_with_args check
From: Hilko Bengen <bengen at debian.org>
On installations where no native OCaml compiler is available, the
test program can't be compiled and so we get this message:

This breaks building of the OCaml bindings.

[hivex PATCH] Remove extra @LIBS@ from pkg-config file
At the moment it is empty, so probably it does not exist. Remove it to
avoid adding spurious content to the pkg-config file in case that
variable will get a value in the future.

[PATCH] klcc compatibility with gcc
Here's a patch to klcc.in from klibc-0.202. The context: I have an
application, managed with GNU automake/autoconf. Packagers should be
able to build the application with klibc if available, with plain gcc
otherwise, as follows:
$ cd ~/klibc-0.202
$ ... make linux symlink
$ make bindir=$HOME/local/bin \
mandir=$HOME/local/man \
INSTALLDIR=$HOME/local \
SHLIBDIR=$HOME/local/shlib \

R-beta: Solaris 2.4, R-62.1, and regex
With R-62.1 on Solaris 2.4, configure says the system has regcomp though I do
not know where it is getting that information. The Solaris 2.4 regex and other
regular expression functions are not interchangeable with the GNU regex and
libraries used by sub() and gsub(). Hence it is necessary to acquire the GNU
version and to get it into the load path ahead of the system libraries to load
it rather

[PATCH v2 3/3] daemon: Restore PCRE regular expressions in OCaml code.
When parts of the daemon were previously converted to OCaml, the
previous PCRE regexps were converted to Str regexps. Restore the
original PCRE regexps.
There was also one case where an original call to glob(3) was replaced
by a Str regexp, and this is replaced by a PCRE regexp (although it is
in fact identical in this instance).
This updates commit b48da89dd6edce325f4c1f2956435c4d383ebe77

RFC: Adding support for the z/OS platform to LLVM and clang
As part of IBM’s ongoing efforts to improve the z/OS ecosystem, our
current plans involve adding support for the z/OS platform to LLVM and
Clang. Our goal is to have a viable C and C++ LLVM compiler and runtime
library that generates code for, and runs on z/OS.
Long term, we expect to have a compiler and library that supports the
platform more fully. We intend to support the native character

tincd does not compile with openssl-1.0.0a-r3 if LDFLAGS=-static
On my Gentoo box I updated openssl to openssl-1.0.0a-r3
I'm not able to compile with openssl-1.0.0a-r3 if I want a static binary
./configure LDFLAGS=-static
the configure scripts complains like this:
checking for RAND_pseudo_bytes... no
configure: error: Missing OpenSSL functionality, make sure you have
installed the latest version.
this was working with previous version of OpenSSL.

makeklcc.pl passes '' to ld if LDFLAGS empty among things
Hi,
If say ppc where LDFLAGS=, you get the problem that klcc is generated
like:
-----
@LDFLAGS = ( '' )
-----
which then causes '' to get passed to ld, which gives:
-----
/usr/bin/ld: : No such file: No such file or directory
-----
One of two ways (I tried over here at least) to fix it, namely the quick
hack:

m4 scripts ignore user-supplied CFLAGS and LDFLAGS
Hi all,
There is a discussion going on one russian forum about NUT
cross-compiling and packaging for some custom embedded firmware.
And one of the authors complained about NUT script for checking
ssl library ignoring supplied CFLAGS and LDFLAGS with the
desired include and library paths.
I checked several scripts in m4 folder and all of them do
something like this:
