VServer > Wine > Xserver
I have some vserver with Debian 5 Lenny 32bit and full root rights if necessary. I use wine to start a windows application which needs to open a gui. I followed this tutorial (http://www.lizardking.biz/2009/02/debian-5-multi-user-vnc/) to run the x11, xdm as login manager and fluxbox as windowmanager. I can login over VNC and i am able to start the program without any problems. I open the in

Font Metrics
Hi All
Newbie to wine here :) I have installed wine, and can get notepad and
winemine up, but when I do, I get a painfully long list of messages and
then it goes into Font Metrics 1.1% - Font Metrics 1.2% untill we
eventually get to 100%. I also tried to run File Maker Pro 5 for
windows, however the window opened and just hung for about 15 mins
before I killed the process. I have checked the

SPAM-LOW: Re: .Call files do not seem to wo rk
If you are using Windows to generate the .call files, make sure they are in
Unix format (LF only at EOL, not CR+LF) - Notepad makes bad Unix files. Use
Crimson Editor www.crimsoneditor.com to make the file, and click Document >
File Format > Unix Format.
I ran into this same problem, and it turns out my Asterisk install would not
use Windows-formatted text files, it would just ignore them

Whitespace, whitespace everywhere, but none for WINE
Dear All,
Yesterday I installed WINE on my Debian GNU/Linux machine. I obtained the
program packages from Andreas Schuldei's site, and the winesetuptk package
from Ove Kaven's. Although my machine is dual boot, I am also trying out
the "WINE without Windows" option, ie by creating a /c directory in the
Linux partition.
Little apps (Notepad, Minesweeper, calc, puTTY, etc.)

Big problem with 2.2.X.
I have been using samba 2.0.X for over a year with solaris 2.6 and windows

the windows application untill i reciently tried upgrading to a 2.2.X
version of Samba. ( I have tried 2.2.2, 2.2.3, 2.2.3a).
Now when i try to start the windows application, it

winecfg screen size
I have been trying to get wine up and running for some time. I work with
the Debian Linux system with a KDE Desktop. Debian is supplying version
1.0.1 . I just installed the .deb file from the Wine website which is
version 1.1.24. That is the highest version available for the Debian
system. All of the versions that I have tried have the same thing wrong
with the graphic interface. I will use

Crash while accessing mdbox folders
Hi,
I've converted some accounts with "dsync mirror maildir:~/Maildir". It
seemed to work, but when I access the folders via IMAP I get the

Is Wine64 usable yet?
Hi,
I am trying to get a general feel of how usable Wine64 is.
I just built 1.3.13.
To see how well it works, I ran 64-bit Putty. It works flawlessly.
Now, I am trying to play around with different little programs. I took
"notepad.exe" from a Windows 7 install (hoping it would be a reasonably
simple program for a start). It crashed with:
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation (nil) 1 (nil)

SPAM-LOW: Re: .Call files do not seem to wo rk
The only other thing that comes to mind is that .call files are very
sensitive to whitespace; you may have unintentially padded the .call file
with whitespace or tabs that it does not like.
The attached .call file works on my 1.0.9 server. Maybe it can give you some
insight.

How to? Set boot up display resolution
I have been given a replacement monitor for my CentOS-6.3 KVM test
platform. It is an LG E2251 22in letterbox format screen whereas the
unit it replaces was a 17" standard format display. The console
messages now look as through they were output on Silly Putty.
The display itself displays a message to set the resolution to 1920 x
1080. I have found references to using the vga option in

Hi CentOS users,
The centos-promo team is looking for your help.
Is anyone interested in creating nice CentOS screenshots ?
We can have them on the wiki as well for future articles or presentations.
A good screenshot should:
+ Be clear on what it is showing

Changing the VNC Screen Size for XEN Guest - how to pick a resolution?
I have seen different screen-sizes for different types of guests (WinXP and Ubuntu).
I''m not sure what is going on here, but WinXP available resolutions are defined tpically 4:3 ratios and the Ubuntu one has tiny 800x600.
Unless I run a guest vncserver I can''t see how to specify the default vnc window size. The reason I dont want to use a guest vncserver is I want localhost

SVN+SSH
Hello Rails,
I am working on a web app and trying to integrate some source control
into our existing user and password base. I would like to use svnserve
if possible but most importantly I would like to have svnserve or the
(SVN server) use my cygwin accounts to access the files and manage my
source control. Is this possible? the thing I have mostly been looking
into is svn+ssh:// that

Determining screen size and/or resolution?
What''s the easiest or best way to determine the screen size from within a controller or view in Rails? My "divs" look great at 1280x800, but not so hot on 800x600. I want to dynamically alter the layout based on the resolution. Any hints regarding screen size or alternate ways of handling this issue would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You can always ask, but realize you are at the mercy of people's goodwill,
so you can't count on anything. In practice, we try to help, but are
often very busy.
