[PATCH 0/3] Handle GPT attribute flags
Hi all,
Here is the series fixing the bug I mentioned on IRC regarding the GPT
attribute flags to copy to the new disk in a virt-resize.
Cédric Bosdonnat (3):

resize: Preserve GPT GUID so we don't break EFI bootloaders (RHBZ#1189284)
virt-resize didn't preserve the per-partition GPT GUID.
Now that guests using UEFI are becoming common (basically it's the
default on aarch64) we need to take into account that sometimes the
partition GUID is used by the bootloader NVRAM variables to identify
the boot partition, so it must be preserved across resize.
This bug caused the 'virt-builder --size' option to fail on

[PATCH 0/3] virt-resize: preserve GPT partitions label
Hi,
attached there are few patches to implement a way to get the label of
GPT partitions (refactoring an existing function and adding a new
daemon API) and using it in virt-resize to restore them when copying
partitions.
Thanks,
Pino Toscano (3):
daemon: parted: refactor sgdisk info parsing code
New API: part-get-name (RHBZ#593511).
resize: preserve GPT partition names (RHBZ#1060404).

[PATCH 3/3] resize: copy GPT partition flags
In some cases, the first stage bootloader needs the 'Legacy BIOS
bootable' flag to be set on the partition. This change copies all
flags (including this one) for each partition of the old disk to the
new one to avoid ending up with non-bootable disks.

[PATCH v2 00/13] virt-resize: add support for resizing MBR logical partitions
Hi Rich,
This is v2 series to add support for resizing MBR logical partitions.
I found the reason of problem in v1 that parted reports error when
adding logical partitions, is that logical partitions are not aligned
to 2 sectors. This problem doesn't appear in v2.
This is for early review, because of:
1. I'm not sure the splitting of patches is appropriate or not, but
it's much

[PATCH v2 1/3] daemon: make sgdisk_info_extract_uuid_field more generic
Rename the sgdisk_info_extract_uuid_field to
sgdisk_info_extract_field in order to reuse it for other field types.
Just like its C ancestor, it now needs an extractor function to be
passed as parameter.

[PATCH] parted: add more udev_settle calls.
add udev_settle calls to print_partition_table and
sgdisk_info_extract_field because the inspect-os calls
guestfs_part_get_parttype and guestfs_part_get_gpt_guid for all
parition devices found and this causes intermittent with opening block
devices that are certainly present yet RESOLVE_DEVICE macro would fail
wiht ENOENT.

[PATCH v3 0/7] add support to resize MBR logical partitions
Hi Rich,
This is v3 series to add support for resizing MBR logical partitions.
changes to v2:
1. remove p_part_num
2. remove filter_parts
3. name the function calculate_target_partitions
4. remove the code to restart guest introduced in v2
changes to v1:
1. spit the patches so it's easier to review
2. fix the parted error caused by unaligned logical partitions
3. extend the

v2 was posted here: https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2018-January/msg00246.html.
v3 comparing to v2 is just a rebase with slightly changed commits comments.

[PATCH RFC] resize: add p_mbr_p_type as member of type partition
Add p_mbr_p_type as member of type partition
to describe mbr partition type.
Currently we use:
List.filter (fun p -> parttype <> MBR || p.G.part_num <= 4_l)
to filter out logical partitions.
Commit 0c396a4bce578486dfc4a38e1f8c47fd5c2836ea
introduce API part_get_mbr_part_type,
we could use this to know the part_type.
Furthermore, we could also use p_mbr_p_type for resizing
logical

[PATCH 1/3] daemon: make sgdisk_info_extract_uuid_field more generic
Rename the sgdisk_info_extract_uuid_field to
sgdisk_info_extract_field in order to reuse it for other field types.
To avoid possible confusion, the list of valid characters used to
extract the value is added to the function parameters.

[PATCH] part-list: add support for show partition type
We lack of showing parttition type for part-list command.
This patch will add support for this.
Also 'parted -m' did not provide partition type info,
remove code section for 'parted -m' process.

[PATCH 1/2] resize: Work around regression in sfdisk (RHBZ#1285847).
'sfdisk --part-type' used to merely set the MBR ID byte in the
partition. However since sfdisk was rewritten, it now "helpfully"
corrupts the first sector of the partition if you change the type byte
from an ordinary partition to an extended partition.
So we need to change the order in which we sets the partition type
byte, to do it before copying the partition content.
