e-sword under a tiling WM
I've been using pytyle, but it seems this condition is common to most tiling wms. Basically, some wine apps get handled (opensong and 'i wanna be the guy' are the ones that do on my system), but some don't, e-sword being one that doesn't. pytyle does automatic tiling, fitting the windows in a defined pattern on the screen. It just does not see e-sword, somehow, but has no

e-sword doesn't appear to be entered in registry
Installed wine on KDE desktop of Fedora 16. I have wine 1.3.33. Then ran e-sword 10.0.5 installer which ran apparently correctly as there were no error messages. E-sword runs from the menu just fine, in that the program opens all the windows which all function as expected except for the search function. This returns no information although the dialog opens as it should and remembers search

wine-1.1.23 & e-Sword
I want to say thanks for the information that I was given on my last post. Using the help of those gentlemen I now Have wine-1.1.26 and the basic e-Sword module 9.03 installs from the eswordinstaller and the KJV is there. However, each time I attempt to install another Bible, Dictionary oranything else I'm informed that I need to be

e-sword and other serious applications via wine
I realize that this is not exactly the right forum for this but here is my two cents worth of comment about how e-sword now performs through Wine: My Linux Distro is Kubuntu 10.10. My Wine version is 1.3.14. I run version 9.8.3 of e-sword. I use none of the separate e-sword modules that must be purchased. The web site for e-sword recommends using Crossover from Code Weavers instead of Wine. I

E-sword and Wine
:( I had E-sword 10.10 (latest version) running PERFECTLY on Linux Mint 12 Gnome 3 with WINE 1.3.28!!! However, I had to switch computers. Now I'm on Linux Mint 13 Mate with WINE 1.4. E-sword opens, but gets a tiny error box that says "0." I have to click it about 4 times, then it says "Error opening Topic notes." And then the program opens, but you can't use the

Victoria II Install Failure - installshield breaks
Backdata: Game: Victoria II by Strategy First. Disc. Wine: 1.3.8 Note: Game runs on all versions XP through 7, trying in both XP and 7 mode gives identical behavior. Name resolution error help needed
Hello, I've checked the FAQ and followed steps I can find there. I made sure my /etc/hosts is correct as in the FAQ. I tried complete uninstall/reinstall of Wine and data. Iceweasel and all other normal linux programs work fine to resolve addresses. WoW under Wine works fine. Fresh install of Firefox for Windows only works under Wine if I use a IP address instead of a hostname, so Wine

InstallShield problems
Hi, I'm having a problem with applications with InstallShield based setup environments. There's a window coming up saying that "Setup is preparing the InstallShield Wizard, which will guide you through the rest of the setup process. Please Wait." and this is absolutely OK, but there's an other message which says "Error installing iKernel.exe: (0x800)".

Another app that crashes InstallShield
This site gives away a free stock/currency charting app for Windows: http://www.marketbrowser.com/get_it.asp I got around the InstallShield problem by installing the app in Windows and then I copied the app's folder from Program Files directly to Program Files in my ~/.wine directory--and it worked perfectly on the first try. Amazing. And wine even made a working shortcut on my gnome
