[PATCH] Introduce a wrapper around xmlParseURI.
We only use xmlParseURI to parse our own "homebrew" URIs, for example
the ones used by guestfish --add or virt-v2v. Unfortunately
xmlParseURI cannot handle URIs with spaces or other non-RFC-compliant
characters so simple commands like these fail:
$ guestfish -a 'ssh://example.com/virtual machine.img'
guestfish: --add: could not parse URI 'ssh://example.com/virtual

[PATCH v3 1/2] common: extract UTF-8 conversion function
libxml2-utils.c local_string_to_utf8() function could easily be reused
in other places. This commit extracts it with a new parameter to allow
giving the encoding of the input string and publishes it in
guestfs-utils.h as guestfs_int_string_to_utf8()

[PATCH 0/4] Replace some uses of the Str module with PCRE.
Str is a pretty ugly regexp module. Let's try to replace it with
PCRE. This series of commits goes some small way towards that
eventual goal.
- - -
I wonder if there was a deep reason why we had this?
let unix2dos s =
String.concat "\r\n" (Str.split_delim (Str.regexp_string "\n") s)
I replaced it with what I think should be (nearly) equivalent:
let unix2dos s =

[PATCH v2 0/2] inspect: basic UTF-8 encoding for rpm

[PATCH v2 00/18] Replace many more uses of the Str module with PCRE.
v1 was here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-September/msg00135.html
This is a more complete evolution of the earlier patch. It replaces
most important uses of Str with PCRE throughout the code. It also
extends the bindings with some useful features like case-insensitive
regexps.
The main places I *didn't* touch are the generator (GObject uses Str
extensively); and

[PATCH v7 00/13] Refactor utilities
This is just the utilities part of the patch series from:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-June/msg00103.html
I believe this addresses everything raised in comments on that
patch series.

[PATCH v3 00/22] Replace almost all uses of the Str module with PCRE.
v1:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-September/msg00135.html
v2:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-September/msg00158.html
v3 is almost identical to v2, but I have added 4 extra commits to
almost finish the job of replacing Str everywhere possible (note it's
not possible to replace Str in common/mlstdutils or the generator
because those are pure OCaml).

[PATCH 00/12] Refactor utility functions.
This turned out to be rather more involved than I thought.
We have lots of utility functions, spread all over the repository,
with not a lot of structure. This moves many of them under common/
and structures them so there are clear dependencies.
This doesn't complete the job by any means. Other items I had on my
to-do list for this change were:
- Split up mllib/common_utils into:

[PATCH 2/2] Fix handling of passwords in URLs
So far, passwords in URLs (eg http://user:password@host..) have been
handled as part of the username, and thus passing
add-drive path username:username:password ...
instead of
add-drive path username:username secret:password ...
Fix the parsing of URLs to handle passwords as separate elements,
properly passing it as "secret" parameter for add-drive, and properly
readd it when

[PATCH 00/67] Proposed patches for libguestfs 1.22.6.
In the kernel and qemu communities it is routine for patches that will
be backported to stable branches to be posted for review. I'm
proposing we do the same for libguestfs stable branches.
All of the attached have been tested with 'make check-release'.

[v2v PATCH 0/2] Move libvirt-ocaml copy to v2v repo
libvirt-ocaml is used only by virt-v2v, so move it to this repository,
instead of having it around in the common submodule.
The removal from common will happen later.

RFC: Handle query strings for http and https (RHBZ#1092583)
Parse the query string from URLs, and pass it as new add_drive optarg;
use it when building the file= URL for qemu.
Accept query string only for http and https protocols, for now.
---
Possibly it looks like an ad-hoc solution for http(s), although I'm not
sure how it could possibly be generalized somehow (maybe "extra params"
which would be the query string for http(s)?).

[PATCH] Add a cache for iconv_t handles to hive_t
It was brought to my attention that dumping a registry hive causes a
lot of time spent in disk I/O activity because iconv_open() and
iconv_close() are called for every key. Every iconv_open() call causes
/usr/lib/.../gconv/$ENCODING.so to be opened and mapped.
The iconv_t handles are now cached in the hive_h struct; they are
opened on-demand and re-used.
On my ~10 year old Lenovo T60, I have

[PATCH] Fully initialize the custom_operations structs
Use also custom_compare_ext_default for the compare_ext field.
According to the git logs, this was introduced in OCaml 3.12.1, which is
earlier than out minimum required version.
mlaugeas is not touched by this change, since it is a copy of a 3rd
party library (and thus it will be fixed there first).

[PATCH 0/2] Add lightweight bindings for PCRE.
We'd like to use PCRE instead of the awful Str module. However I
don't necessarily want to pull in the extra dependency of ocaml-pcre,
and in any case ocaml-pcre is rather difficult to use.
This introduces very simplified and lightweight bindings for PCRE.
They work rather like Str in that there is some global state (actually
thread-local in this implementation) between the matching and

[PATCH] build: build C sources using OCaml API with CAML_NAME_SPACE
This way no non-namespaced OCaml C symbols are used, reducing the risk
of clashes with other code.
The only exception is ocaml-augeas, which does not build with
CAML_NAME_SPACE; it will be fixed upstream, and it affects only
ocaml-augeas itself.
