[PATCH supermin] ext2: Create symlinks properly (RHBZ#1470157).
The ext2 filesystem on disk format has two ways to store symlinks.
For symlinks >= 60 bytes in length, they are stored as files
(so-called "slow symlinks"). For shorter symlinks the symlink is
stored in the inode ("fast symlinks").
Previously we only created slow symlinks even if there are shorter
than 60 bytes. This didn't matter until recently, when a change went

[PATCH] ext2: Don't load whole files into memory when copying to the appliance (RHBZ#1113065).
Obviously for very large files this is going to be a problem, as well
as not being very cache efficient.
libext2fs can handle writes to parts of files just fine so copy files
in blocks.
Also demote the "Permission denied" error to a warning, and add some
explanatory text telling people not to use sudo.

[PATCH]Add rollback support for the converter
Hello,
This patch adds rollback support for the converter, the converter can
roll back a conversion if the image file haven't been modified. In
addition, I rearrange some codes in convert.c and add a few comments.
Regards
YZ

[PATCH nbdkit 4/4] Add linuxdisk plugin.
From: "Richard W.M. Jones" <rjones@redhat.com>
This plugin allows you to create a complete ext2 filesystem in a GPT
partitioned disk image. This can be attached as a disk to a Linux
virtual machine. It is implemented using libext2fs (the same as
supermin).
Although there is some overlap with nbdkit-iso-plugin and
nbdkit-floppy-plugin, the implementations and use cases of all

[PATCH] Progs: update convert for uninitialized block groups
Hello,
There is a new feature ''uninitialized block groups'' in ext4.
Block and inode bitmaps in uninitialized block groups are
uninitialized. This confuses the converter. The fix is call
ext2fs_new_inode for each block group at open time. It set
up uninitialized block and inode bitmaps appropriately.
This patch also contains some other minor fixes. Thank you,

[PATCH supermin] ext2: Build symbolic links correctly (RHBZ#1770304).
We created symlinks in two steps, by creating the empty inode and then
calling ext2fs_symlink to populate it. This created broken symlinks
where the directory name contained a / character, eg:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Nov 26 08:43 /bin -> usr/bin
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Nov 26 08:43 /lib -> usr/lib
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 9 Nov 26 08:43 /lib64 -> usr/lib64

Some questions about function usage
Hello,
Recently, I am coding a program about read and write control.
And there are some questions confusing me.
1.
In info libext2fs:
Function: errcode_t ext2fs_get_blocks (ext2_filsys FS, ext2_ino_t
INO, blk_t *BLOCKS)
Returns an array of blocks corresponding to the direct, indirect,
doubly indirect, and triply indirect blocks as stored in the inode
structure.
So I wrote some codes like

[PATCH 0/3] supermin: add --include-packagelist
Hi,
to ease debugging issues with appliances (e.g. when used in libguestfs),
using --include-packagelist will add a file containing the list of all
the packages used.
Thanks,
Pino Toscano (3):

[nbdkit PATCH 2/2] ext2: Supply .list_exports and .default_export
When using ext2file=exportname to pick the file to server from the
client's export name, we do not want to leak the underlying plugin's
export list. While touching this, take advantage of string lifetimes
via nbdkit_strdup_intern and similar for less cleanup bookkeeping.
Note that we don't actually implement a full .list_exports; doing that
with NBD_OPT_LIST is likely prohibitive

[PATCH 0/8] extlinux: support unmounted ext2/3/4 filesystem
Hello syslinux,
Merry Christmas! These patches will make extlinux work with umounted
ext2/3/4 filesystem, for example:
$ extlinux -i /dev/sdXN
or
$ extlinux -i file_block
Also it can work with something like:
$ extlinux /dev/sdXN --reset-adv
or
$ extlinux file_block --reset-adv
We don't use a new option (I planed to use "-d" but it is already in
use), it will check whether the

[PATCH 0/2] supermin: improve handling of memory
Hi,
the two patches improve the way memory is handled in supermin, by
cleanly exiting on memory allocation failures, and free'ing memory when
not needed (to keep working and not run out of memory).

Check for failures in memory allocations
Free memory buffers when not used

[PATCH nbdkit 0/4] New plugin: Add linuxdisk plugin.
Turns out Japanese trains are good for coding!
In supermin we have a bunch of code to create the libguestfs
appliance. It creates it directly using libext2fs (part of
e2fsprogs). We can use the same technique to create ext2 virtual
disks in nbdkit, which is what this new plugin does. Why a new plugin
instead of modifying the floppy plugin? See the 4/4 commit message
for an explanation.

[PATCH nbdkit v2 0/5] Add linuxdisk plugin.
Another interesting thing you can do with this plugin:
https://rwmj.wordpress.com/2019/02/19/nbdkit-linuxdisk-plugin/
v2:
- Fix inconsistent tab/space.
- All 3 plugins now contain a block of text pointing to the
other 2 plugins.
- TMDIR -> TMPDIR
- Unlink the temporary file and other cleanups along error paths.
- fclose -> pclose, and check the return value for errors.

[PATCH 1/4] build: Use LT_INIT in configure.ac.
Avoids the warning:
libtoolize: Remember to add 'LT_INIT' to configure.ac.
This is the new name for AC_PROG_LIBTOOL, so I removed that.
However to use this macro we must enable AC_USE_SYSTEM_EXTENSIONS.
(AC_GNU_SOURCE was removed back in 2011).
