[PATCH] common/qemuopts: ensure arg lists are never empty
Since it does not make much sense, then forbid this situation outright:
- change qemuopts_end_arg_list() to return an error if the current arg
list has no elements
- when creating the argv array, assert that each arg list is not empty

[PATCH 3/4] common/qemuopts: use the old pointer as realloc pointer
Call realloc() directly with the pointer to the old data, instead of
assigning it to the destination variable, and using that one. The rest
of the code is the same, already properly checking for the results of
realloc(), so this mostly help static code analyzers.

[PATCH] fish: add option --blocksize for disks
When --blocksize <val> is provided, qemu command line would add
physical_block_size=<val>,physical_logical_size=<val> to -device
directive.
Example:
qemu-kvm \
-drive file=raw.img,cache=writeback,id=hd0,if=none \
-device scsi-hd,drive=hd0,physical_block_size=4096,logical_block_size=4096 \

[RFC] lib: allow to specify physical/logical block size for disks
From: Nikolay Ivanets <stenavin@gmail.com>
I faced with situation where libguestfs cannot recognize partitions on a
disk image which was partitioned on a system with "4K native" sector
size support.
In order to fix the issue we need to allow users to specify desired
physical and/or logical block size per drive basis.
It is definitely not a complete patch but rather a way to

[PATCH 2.6] update to network emulation QOS scheduler
This patch updates the network emulation packet scheduler.
* name changed from delay to netem since it does more than just delay
* Catalin''s merged code to do packet reordering
* uses a socket queue''s directly rather than layering on qdisc(fifo)
because this is used in performance tests.
* adds placeholder in API for future enhancements (rate and duplicate).

Issue with match.call
Hi,
I have a function that I'm writing. The arguments in the function are as follows
RFF<-function(qtype, qOpt,...){}
i.e., I have two args that are compulsary and the rest are optional. Now when my user passes the function call, I need to see what optional args are defined and process accordingly...what I have so far is..
RFF<-function(qtype, qOpt,...){

[PATCH] packet delay scheduler
Okay, here is a very simple QOS scheduler that delays packets for 2.6.
It is good for testing, and might be useful for people who want to put
some class of traffic into a "penalty box".
Alexey''s tc command is really easy to extend to new disciplines. There is
a version which knows about this scheduler at:

[PATCH 00/10] Remove the need for vmchannel
This set of 10 patches removes the need for any vmchannel implementation,
although we can still choose to use vmchannel if we want.
In this so-called "null vmchannel" configuration, the appliance
connects directly to a port on the library. The exact method is
described in patch 9/10.
This method still requires SLIRP (user mode networking) so it is
not a panacea, because recent

[PATCH] lib: direct: Disable qemu locking when opening drives
Incomplete fix for https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1417306
The full fix is waiting for a libvirt change, but this can still go
upstream.

[PATCH] Replace -nodefconfig with -no-user-config.
This option was removed from qemu for no apparent reason except to
break existing consumers. It does the same as -no-user-config, added
in May 2012, so use that instead.

[PATCH] lib: direct: Remove support for virtio-blk as the default.
virtio-scsi has been supported in qemu since 2012, and it is superior
in every respect to virtio-blk. There's no reason to still be using
virtio-blk.
virtio-scsi support was initially added in 2012
(commit 0c0a7d0d868d153adf0600189f771459e1068b0a).
You can still use virtio-blk using the (deprecated) iface parameter,
but don't do that in new code.

[PATCH 0/5] Assorted patches to add virtio-scsi support.
These assorted patches end up with adding virtio-scsi support to
libguestfs.
It passes libguestfs-test-tool, but I haven't yet tried to run the
full set of tests.
In theory > 26 devices can be added, but it's likely that certain
parts of the daemon will break if you actually try this. This of
course needs to be fixed.

[PATCH v2 0/4] Experimental User-Mode Linux backend.
v1 was here:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2013-August/msg00005.html
This now works, to some extent. The main problem now is that devices
are named /dev/ubd[a-] which of course confuses everything. I'm
thinking it may be easier to add a udev rule to rename them.

[PATCH 0/4] Not quite working User-Mode Linux backend.
This is a User-Mode Linux backend for libguestfs. You can select it
by doing:
export LIBGUESTFS_BACKEND=uml
export LIBGUESTFS_QEMU=/path/to/vmlinux
Note we're reusing the 'qemu' variable in the handle for convenience.
QEmu is not involved when using the UML backend.
This almost works. UML itself crashes when the daemon tries to
connect to the serial port. I suspect it's
