[PATCH] customize: Test that the --root-password parameter works.
This is the second half of the patch series posted yesterday (see:
"[PATCH 0/2] builder: Add test that a serial console is set up for
guest templates we supply.").
This checks that our code to change passwords works on real guests.
It creates a real guest using virt-builder with the --root-password
option, then boots it up and tries to log in with the root password.

[PATCH 1/2] mllib: hostname: replace the hostname on Debian also in /etc/hosts (RHBZ#953907).
In Debian/Ubuntu systems, read the previous hostname from /etc/hostname
before replacing it, and try to carefully replace it in /etc/hosts with
the new hostname.
Since Perl_edit to edit /etc/hosts, it is added/changed as dependency
for Hostname.

[PATCH] customize: allow missing SELINUXTYPE in SELinux config
libselinux defaults to "targeted" when no SELINUXTYPE is specified in
/etc/config/selinux. Hence do the same here, instead of failing because
of the missing key.
Add a slow test for checking SELinux relabeling on a Fedora 27 guest,
both with no changes, and with a modified configuration.

[PATCH 1/2] customize: Fix firstboot scripts on Debian 6 & 7 (RHBZ#1019388).
I have only verified the fix on Debian 7.
The Debian 6 guest doesn't appear to boot, I'm not sure why.
The second patch contains a test suite.

Duplicated (but only for unread) messages after second rsync pass...
Ok, I know I should probably be using dsync for this, but I'm more
familiar with rsync, and didn't think this would be a problem.
Here is what I am doing, and what is apparently happening (only done
this once, but I'm guessing it will happen each time):
rsync -avHP /mnt/vmail/example.com/user1/ /var/vmail/example.com/user1/
chown -R vmail:vmail /var/vmail/example.com

[PATCH 0/2] builder: Add test that a serial console is set up for guest templates we supply.
The first of two sets of patches.
This checks that the templates we supply have the serial console
enabled, or in two cases, that the serial console can be enabled by
fiddling with some grub config.
The second set of patches (to follow) will test that the --password
and --root-password options work. This implementation of this is
quite complex.

[PATCH] customize: Move virt-customize-related code to a separate
There's not going to be an easy way to present this patch. It's huge
and interconnected.
Anyway, what it does is lay the groundwork for a new tool which I'm
calling 'virt-customize'. virt-customize is virt-builder, but without
the part where it downloads a template from a respository. Just the
part where it customizes the template, that is, installing packages,
editing

[PATCH 0/2] v2v: glance: Allow Glance backend to import multiple disks
This patch series lifts the previous restriction that virt-v2v would
refuse to convert a guest to Glance that had more than one disk.
The first patch is just better documentation for the Glance output
mode. The second patch contains the change (best viewed with
'git diff -w' since it is mostly a whitespace change).
virt-v2v -o glance will now create multiple disks called:

Error when creating user with Samba 3.0 & LDAP
Hy,
I just install OpenLDAP 2.0 and Samba 3.0. (both from RPM).
I used tools from idealx (found in src from Samba 3.0) to populate the ldap
tree. My ldap is empty when i start, i just added index and samba.schema in
slapd.conf.
I used net rpc getsid to generate my domain SID and put in the
smbldap_conf.pm with others options (dc, ou, dn etc.)
I didn't get any error with this tool, it create

Server Migration Attempt - new messages DELETED after secondary rsyncs
Starting a new thread, as I've got a lot more details now...
First, I know this may be (or is even likely) something weird happening
with Thunderbird, but the bottom line is, I have to find a resolution or
a workaround or something, or I will be unable to pull the trigger on
the server migration. It is simply unacceptable to lose ANY mails doing
this.
Goal: migrate mailstore from old

F20 Virt-Manager with MacVTap not working
Hello,
I've setup a VM with default networking (NAT) and this works fine but hosts
on my LAN can't get to the VM since it uses NAT.
When I try to set network to use MacVTap with either default or bridged I
get no networking for the VM.
Any hints around this? I would like to have the VM's on the same LAN as my
host and other machines. I don't care if the VM host can't reach the

VM dies with error regarding "virConnectNumOfInterfaces"
Hi!
I ran into a problem using a USB device and was wondering if
you could help me.
I'm running a Win XP SP3 in a VM with libvirt on a Xubuntu 11.10.
I configured it to talk to several USB devices.
With one particular device (a Phonak Compilot[1], admittedly a probably
rather unusual device), the VM dies with the following error in the

virt-install with --channel option inquiry
hi, virt guys,
This is Hongqing from Fedroa QA team. I try to forward the guest installation logs to host with virtio.
I have used virsh edit <guestName> to add a channel, it works fine.
I think it would be better if I can initialize it when I create the guest using virt-install,
and virt-install also offers the option, I have tried below, but it does not work.
virt-install
