I've also added the instrucions i used to compile wine
At the end of this mail i have a list of all packages i've compiled. As i run

starcraft runs faster from winedbg than from wine?
Hi, I have discovered i can run starcraft at (almost) full speed on my system.
This only works one time, directly after reboot. When tried a second time
it's all choppy again. My guess is there're some stale wine processes after
the first attempt.
When i reboot and start wine instead of winedebug the game video performance
is choppy. When i start the game with winedbg after that The

/etc/X11/xorg.conf question
If I use "system-config-display" or "system-config-display --reconfig"
although I get a message that I need to log out of GNOME, to have the
new file written, for new Display Resolution, logging out or
restarting the box does not result in the new settings for the Display
taking hold. Sometimes, the number of colors is updated, but *never*
the Resolution. Below is my xorg.conf

DRI problem in wine
Hello, I have a problem with wine video. Previously, I had no DRI present in my system, because the distro maintainers of the distro I use (paldo (http://www.paldo.org)) dropped support for nvidia's legacy drivers (and my card is Geforce MX400 64MB). However, currnet update in the standard nvidia-glx package seems to fix the problem and my system has DRI back again, with a little trick

Xorg goes bonkers, bazillion NVIDIA errors...
on one of my Centos 5.4 boxes, a machine that's around 5 years old and
has always run Centos and X, and has had the same Nvidia card in it for
its entire life, I'm suddenly getting these lines in the xorg log file:
(WW) NVIDIA(0): WAIT (2, 6, 0x8000, 0x00000000, 0x000003c0)
(EE) NVIDIA(0): Failed to allocate clip rectangle

wineconsole regression
I am using the Daily Debian Wine builds (used to be the 'Drunkard' builds)
to run the freeware version of the IDA Pro disassembler (see
http://www.datarescue.be/downloadfreeware.htm). Until about two or three
weeks ago it would run OK using wineconsole. Since that time, the window
pops up then immediately disappears. Wineconsole exits with
"Wine failed with return code 1".

I've seen this Acronym thrown around alot in reference to games. What is

Thanks,

anyone could give
me a tip on this - thanks

Hee wine guys.
I have been using wine for a while now and i think it is generely a good
idea ( much better than having boot your entire windows operating system
inside linux )
It is a shame it is a little unstable

Screen resolution switch with DGA
This has me baffled. I run Diablo 2 under Wine, works absolutely
flawlessly in every way. I have DGA enabled, and a 800x600 desktop (also
tried the Managed and Unmanaged options). Thing is, my X desktop is
1600x1200x16bpp and of course Diablo 2 is only 800x600. Is there any way
to have this resolution automagically change to 800x600 (nothing seems
to do that here), and back when I exit it?
