What's the difference between the Jabber Client Mode And Component Mode?
Hi All, I am doing some research on the intergration of Jabber and Asterisk. I have tried Jabber Client Mode. It's cool and works fine. But there's few information on the Component Mode. What's the difference between these two mode? I finished the configuration on jabber.conf and I am using openfire. What shall I do in the openfire to make them intergrated? Looks forward to your

how to stop cursor blinking in wine GUI
Hi all wine users and developers, I have a touch question which I have been searching answers for quite a long time to configure wine but still have not solved yet. Wine is the only Windows program simulator running in Linux which I use, however one thing annoying me is that currently the cursor is always blinking in the GUI. For example, the editplus running in wine. Something it really drives

I have recently migrated from an old, RedHat Linux 9 - based system (Aurox 9.2) to Centos 4.4. I am having trouble with vnc causing X unusable until reboot. By unusable I mean that X screen is either blank or blinking and moving, which is not cured by X restart until reboot. My system is: Compaq EVO D510 SFF CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 1.80GHz RAM: 256 MB Video: 00:02.0 VGA compatible

Jabber/Jingle to Google users via local XMPP server
Hi all, All the examples I've come across seem to suggest configuring jabber.conf/jingle.conf/gtalk.conf for a real Google account. What about the scenario where the Asterisk server should connect to an account on a private Jabber server and using Jingle (voice calling over Jabber)? e.g. for the domain widgets.com: - there is a copy of ejabberd running on the same box as Asterisk, and

Videoconferencing with speex and jabber
Speaking of video conferencing in conjunction with Speex, we are currently beta testing a solution we developed that offers multi-point, multi-party video and audio using the Speex engine for voice. http://www.wiredred.com/downloads/ecsetup.exe The fair and good audio settings are Speex narrowband, high quality is HawkVoice and toll quality is PCM. -----Original Message----- From:

Asterisk + Jabber
I want to use JabberSend in my dialplan, but I saw that my Asterisk does not support Jabber. Also I have nowhere a module res_jabber.so... So I thought I'd rebuild my Asterisk. In menuselect I saw that res_jabber was dependent of 'iksemel' and 'gnutls'. In my yum repositories I can find a gnutls.i386, but what is this iksemel-beast ??? There is info to find via google on

Hi Carsten, due to the ongoing discussion on both lists, i simply respond to both lists. it's hard crossposting, but it's for both roups relevant (i think). <p>+After having thought about control structures, it makes sense to me to do the extra work and merge this creamed cake into a jabber server component. Otherwise a control channel to the server component would have to be

Speex and Jabber
Greetings, I hope this message is not too far off-topic. I'm working with the Helix-Jabber project to create a standard for voice and video with Jabber IM (http://jabber.org). I've received numerous recommendations about Speex, and so for our standard voice codec, I'm wondering if it would be wise to choose Speex instead of GSM. The codecs we choose must be accessible to as
