New API: node_nr_values
As a follow-up to node_nr_children discussed in "hivex lib: Add function hivex_node_num_children", I've also created the function node_nr_values, which just returns the number of values of a node (primarily for optimization purposes). I hope I've done it correctly so that a follow-up commit is unneeded. The git tree is here: https://github.com/kupiakos/hivex/tree/node_nr_values

[PATCH hivex] maint: split long lines
Hi Rich, I find it more readable (and safer to review) to avoid lines longer than 80 columns. When reviewing changes that wrap, I've noticed that it is harder to spot certain types of mistakes in the wrapped portion of a long line. >From 930118b380b35bb33e7719b0eb2ab6b31fa2d7e4 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Jim Meyering <meyering at redhat.com> Date: Wed, 13 Apr 2011 16:08:57

Hivex bug? Cannot access Windows 2003 x64 Software\Classes key
I tried both hivex-1.2.5 and hivex-1.2.7, same result. The same software hive can be loaded using Windows regedit tool, and had no problem to access the "Classes" key. The other keys under Software (like Microsoft, Wow6432Node, etc.) are OK. Here is the hivexsh output with HIVEX_DEBUG=1 enabled:

[PATCH] convert_windows: uninstall Parallels Tools on first boot
If present, Parallels Tools may stand in the way of proper running the windows guests in non-Parallels hypervisors, so we're better off uninstalling them on the first boot into the new environment. With this patch, the uninstall records for Parallels Tools are looked up in the registry and, if found, corresponding firstboot actions are registered, taking special care that those actions are

[Hivex] [PATCH v3] Report last-modified time of hive root and nodes
The infrastructure for modified-time reporting has been essentially unused. These changes report the registry time by treating the time fields as Windows filetime fields stored in little-Endian (which means they can be treated as a single 64-bit little-Endian integer). This patch adds to the hivex ABI: * int64_t hivex_last_modified (hive_h *) * int64_t hivex_node_timestamp (hive_h *,

[PATCH 0/4] Add hivex APIs into the libguestfs API (RHBZ#852394)
This adds most of the hivex APIs directly to the libguestfs API, so that you can read and write Windows Registry hive files from libguestfs without needing to download and upload hive files from the guest. This is analogous to how Augeas APIs are exposed already (guestfs_aug_*) Also, inspection is now done using the new APIs, which fixes the following bug:

[PATCH 2/2] lib: allow to walk registry with corrupted blocks
There are some corrupted registry files that have invalid hbin cells but are still readable. This patch makes the following changes: * hivex_open - do not abort with complete failure if we run across a block with invalid size (unless it's the root block). Instead just log the event, and move on. This will allow open hives that have apparent invalid blocks but the ones of potential

[PATCH v3 0/2] hivex: handle corrupted hives better
The following patches address issues when dealing with hives that have corrupted data in them but are otherwise readable/writable. Those were found on some rather rare Windows installations that seem to work fine but current hivex fails to even open. Those patches change hivex to simply log and ignore such "corrupted" regions instead of aborting because the caller might be looking at
